Hm, not necessarily. When we signed Ben Gibson, so far as we know there were no bids to sign Ben Mee.

What's not to like, sign Dawson, retain Tarky.

And, there's time to loan out any of our pipeline of CBs who will benefit from Championship game time.

UTC
Absolutely. Dunne to the Championship and Thomas to League 1. Tell Tarks he will have to wait a bit, even though we risk getting less for him in due course.

We have another very important match against Newcastle on Sat and to go in with Long and Dunne would be a disaster
If "wingnut" wants to go, then let's get the deal done now
One minute we are near to getting Wilson and other stories say that Dyche has convinced Sessegnon to come on loan
Dawson?, Christie?
SD has put all the pressure on Garlick (quite rightly) so we know where the buck stops

I think the buck stops with those who know how much cash we will have by march 2021 when there have been no crowds at matches and sponsors have not needed to cough up as there has been little or nothing to sponsor

The longer this carries the more chance of another club coming in for him. I hope we have other players in mind if this doesn't actually come off.

I don't think he'd be a bad signing on the right terms for the experience he could potentially offer.

Scott Dann always plays well against us.
I’ve thought that since he was at Rovers.
Scouser too isn’t he?
Certainly better fit than Steve Cook. Arguably as good as Dawson.

I agree Dann is a more than useful Premier League centre half. However, surprisingly, out of the 3 mentioned here, Cook is the youngest. 4 years the junior of Dann. I don't honestly think Cook is as bad as people are suggesting. Always looked a no nonsense defender to me and is clearly a leader too.

Leicester edging closer to £40m James Tarkowski transfer

Leicester City are edging ever nearer to completing the signing of Burnley defender, James Tarkowski, according to a report from The Telegraph.

The report claims the Foxes are closing in on landing the Tarkowski, with the player said to be keen on joining Brendan Rodgers’ charges and the clubs moving closer to a deal over Burnley’s £40m asking-price.

I did however think it's £50 million that's our asking price, not £40 million?

£50M is reportedly a release clause that only includes the Manchester and Liverpool clubs. Another link to the same thing I think...

If we can get it we should take the £40m, assuming it's not in installments.

Is it now genuinely looking like the Tarky deal is almost over the line ? Presuming the delay is ourselves sort of arranging short term finance bridging so we can still sign our targets if this one runs to the wire . Pretty gutted we’re likely to lose him but 40m is no bad fee

Time to get shut of Tarky and bring in a replacement. I’d be happy with Dawson but Dyche knows how to pick a centre half so I’ll be happy with whoever comes in. Wilson on top would be an added bonus.

Get him gone and let’s start our season, were on hold atm, we need the cash and a central defender. I think we need a PL ready, proven experienced defender. Dann would be shrewd business at low cost and an excellent defender.

Wilson, Sessegnon, Dann and maybe another would be excellent business imo

‘tis on Twitter although people are unsure whether it’s £13M + £3M addons or £12M + £4M addons... the important thing is that there is belief that Liverpool are seriously considering it or have accepted it.
