Telephone, Bank scammers...
My parents fell victim to Bank fraud.... caught off guard, like so many others of their ages.
But, more alarmingly... having reported their mistake they received another call that said it was part of the fraud investigation and they needed more detail. I put the phone down and 1471. The number was there so I rang it.... Barclays secure fraud report line. All good, we’ll no. Instead of waiting for either the offered call back or continuing the call, we called the local Barclays number who confirmed indeed was a SECURE Barclays number... but only for incoming calls. So even if you check the number first do not take up there suggestions and find you own route to your Bank.... or you are probably still talking to the freudsters. Barclays informed us to disconnect the phone and not call out again before we had.
There are some evil swines out there.

I'd string them up by their gonads with piano wire

A lot of homoerotic vibes in this thread.

Hopefully, your parents did not lose out financially. The psychological trauma must not be overlooked or underestimated. I'm sure you will, but make sure they're OK

About the tone I expected. Never mind they have no right to still be around in their eighties and not being savvy.... guess they deserved it, why try and warn others when you can laugh behind your screen.

I hope that's in addition to stringing them up by their gonads with piano wire!

Re: Telephone, Bank scammers...
I assume that was not aimed at me.
Re: Telephone, Bank scammers...
I’m struggling to work out who it could have been aimed at, tbh. The posters suggesting graphic forms of torture for the scumbags who did this to his parents? C&J for pointing out that those graphic descriptions come across as a bit homo-erotic (they really do)? Or you for saying you hope his parents are ok and not too traumatised?

If that’s the case you’ve got to admire his restraint.
