Championship team of the year
I’d take the two Brentford lads but none of the rest. Strange only one Leeds player in must show their team ethic I suppose.

Shows how far we’ve come when we look at that and it looks quite average.

Re: Championship team of the year
shows how crap the league must have been this season when one of the CB is Morrison !!!
Benrahma will go for big money if they don't go up, way above what we can afford

Re: Championship team of the year
Pereira is an excellent player, but Benrahma is the attractive one there, although I do think Watkins would be an excellent buy.

Re: Championship team of the year
One Leeds player as champions. So for them a more collective effort. Excellent recipe for them to buy buy crazy in the summer and wreck their squad harmony.
Re: Championship team of the year
Slim pickings there. From what I’ve seen, which granted isn’t much, that team would be relegation contenders in the Prem. As this is often our market I do hope we are casting our net a bit wider this time.

Re: Championship team of the year
This years championship as been dreadful. Leeds could not have had an easier run at the title, due to the lack of consistency from the teams below them.
Both Leeds and WBA will struggle next season. Leeds have a foreign manager will no premier league experience and WBA have one who has previously struggled at Premier league level

Re: Championship team of the year
If I could have my pick from that team for us, it would certainly be Benrahma. If Brentford don't go up the'll be a lot of interest for this lad, but my guess is he'll want to stay in London. I've always liked Hutchinson of Sheffield Weds. Very combative defender whose versatile and can also play in midfield and right back. He would be a good acquisition and more than likely within our budget.

Bielsa “ foreign manager with no premier league experience” but tons of top flight experience elsewhere and coaches admittedly only as successful as Pep think he’s world class. You left that bit out.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 7:59 amThis years championship as been dreadful. Easy to manage the likes of Man City with their financial clout. Not so a newly promoted outfit from a uncompetitive championship, who have mediocre financial resources and little or no experience of playing at Premier league levelCharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:06 amBielsa “ foreign manager with no premier league experience” but tons of top flight experience elsewhere and coaches admittedly only as successful as Pep think he’s world class. Re: Championship team of the year
Point is he managed Argentina for 6 years. Chile for 4. Lazio in their pomp. Marseille for a bit. But to you he’s a foreign manager with no Premier league experience

Uhmm! He managed Lazio for two days then promptly quit.CharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:38 amPoint is he managed Argentina for 6 years. Chile for 4. Lazio in their pomp. Marseille for a bit. But to you he’s a foreign manager with no Premier league experience

The Hutchinson in this team is Shaun Hutchinson (centre half at Millwall) - not Sam Hutchinson of Sheffield Wednesday.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:04 amIf I could have my pick from that team for us, it would certainly be Benrahma. The one that always seems a bit of an enigma to me is Andre Ayew at Swansea. Clearly has something about him given his previous teams and the pedigree he reportedly had and the shock of him signing for Swansea a few years ago. Also, clearly a decent player given the rating in this team....but never seems to affect games that I watch very much.

Re: Championship team of the year
I saw Eze from QPR for the first time the other night. Looked excellent, though admittedly that was just one performance. Can understand from it why there's interest in him, though.

Where this uncompetitive championship come from? What does it even mean?Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:33 amEasy to manage the likes of Man City with their financial clout. In our Champions season the Top 6 got 506 points, Top 10 771
This seasons Top 6 481, Top 10 749 points
So the points more evenly spread throughout the league this season making it surely more competitive.
The bottom 3 (Wigan -12) got an extra 31 points this season than our Champions season.

Surely Eze is someone we should at least be taking a closer look at? Was QPR fans’ player of the year too.

Re: Championship team of the year
Re Bright Oseyi -Samuel and Eze we missed a trick when QPR wanted Naaki on a permanent deal we need to be far more proactive in our dealings.
Now we have no chance of any deal being done priced out, again

So he's similar to his brother at Palace then?Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 11:33 amThe Hutchinson in this team is Shaun Hutchinson (centre half at Millwall) - not Sam Hutchinson of Sheffield Wednesday.
