Eric Clapton

Post by kindonesque » Sat Jul 25, 2020 1:51 pm

dermotdermot just texted me to say he spotted Eric Clapton in the Ashley Cross suburb of Poole, Dorset driving a McLaren. Can anybody confirm? dermotdermot does wear glasses.

I can confirm that he isn't in West Burnley, I am sure by ruling out where he isn't we can prove or disprove if he is in Poole.
This of course dependent on Eric parking up.

He hasn't been seen in Wimborne Road near the Poole Speedway circuit either. Where is Slowhand?

Surely to god we're not considering signing someone that old?

I don't think he has a McClaren... he wanted George Harrisons McClaren but after he nicked Georges ex Missus the family wouldn't let him have that too 🤔

But he does have Ferrari's etc

If dermotdermot can't tell a McLaren from a Ferrari we have to doubt if was Eric Clapton at all

I tell you it was him. I was driving behind this Mclaren through Ashley Cross towards Bournemouth. I pulled alongside him at a set of lights thinking that this car is perhaps a little too expensive for the Bournemouth footballers and saw quite an old looking fellow with fairly short white hair. As he pulled away I thought, wait a minute, it’s Eric Clapton. It’s no big deal. You see loads of well known people around here.

Dermot, i.e. Kindonesque, is the one with blinkers on. He popped off somewhere at half time at the Vitality Stadium and wouldn’t believe me when I told him that he’d just missed ClaretTony having a chat with three well preserved Burnley babes who happened to be sitting in front of us. He thought that just because I’d seen someone who was having a temporary problem walking, I’d just assumed that it was CT, when, in fact, I had asked one of the ladies whether it was him. He never believed me.

It could be right, I saw him in a pub in Christchurch last August.

That would be Christchurch, Dorset, as opposed to New Zealand.

Kindonesque was always the same at school. Short concentration span and now clearly early signs of Alzheimer’s are kicking in!

If you catch up to him can you tell him he owes me a weeks wages!

That what I'd paid to see him, all those years ago but he decided not to turn up. (Although he was physically staggering on the stage his mind was definitely somewhere else)

i hope thats's not a reference to kind "staggering" around the stage. I was really good in Hello Dolly at St Stephens.
