Re: Jake Humphries chats to Dyche.
I really enjoyed that.
I never knew that Dyche regularly gives talks to other businesses and the money for it goes to charities.
I've also failed to notice that the players are never wearing headphones etc pre and post game, but thinking about it now..
As always he presents himself very well.

I'm part way through this but will watch the rest later - really interesting listening to him when he talks like this.

yep, he mentions that we've just lost 3 games in a week, so filmed in January.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 3:08 pmI think this is a repeat, was posted in May

Re: Jake Humphries chats to Dyche.
Just coming to the end of it. Very interesting and not the slightest hint that he was beginning to get fed up. Two words stood out for me, two words he didn't need to say. He called Burnley "Our town."
Yes, it was filmed in January but there wasn't the slightest hint that he was anything but perfectly happy.

Half way through. Top notch. Thanks

I really admire your optimism, but I think he’ll be off.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 3:55 pmJust coming to the end of it. Just finished listening to it - if anyone wants to know why he's a good manager, why he gets the best out of players, it was all there.

Very interesting his comments about "Ego's have to be left at the entrance to Barnfield" and players unable to do that are not welcome....
A loosely veiled reference to Gibson perhaps....

Re: Jake Humphries chats to Dyche.
I have always thought when Dyche speaks people listen and it's out of respect for his intelligence. He is articulate, respectful, honest, witty and his knowledge of the game is excellent.
I find Hodgson, Smith and Wilder to be of similar vein.
How people can hang onto every word of some of the over hyped cliched run of the mill British breed of Manager is beyond me.

Excellent, thanks for the link. Really enjoyed that.
Not surprised our lads constantly perform as they do... he’s a leader of men and makes you want to be better. Shows in what we do each week.

Sean Dyche is a great manager. He's still learning, as he describes in his chat with Jake Humphries. I'm looking forward to another season with Sean Dyche managing Burnley FC - and many more beyond.

Re: Jake Humphries chats to Dyche.
Mentioned that in a more recent interview - that he always try’s to learn and improve, but improving just because you try is not guaranteed. Amazingly humble, grounded and self-aware. Some hallmarks of a fantastic leader emerging in Sean. So hope the club give him the backing he deserves.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 11:17 pmSean Dyche is a great manager. Re: Jake Humphries chats to Dyche.
I'm sure Mike Garlick will have a copy of Sean Dyche's interview in his favourites. Maybe Mike and Sean will share a glass of wine together and re-watch the video, plus Sean's interview powerpoint.NewClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 11:31 pmMentioned that in a more recent interview - that he always try’s to learn and improve, but improving just because you try is not guaranteed. Dyche is a different class and comes across as a deep thinker. You would expect him to flourish in any high powered organisation.
We were incredibly lucky or astute when we appointed him as our manager.
Long may it continue.

I think that video needs removing. Thank God other owners don't watch these podcasts, there would be a good few knocking on Sean's door.
Great stuff, and so lucky to have him.
