superb season

Post by quoonbeatz » Sun Jul 26, 2020 6:12 pm

Just popping on to say what a brilliant season this has been, a top 10 finish, (as I predicted in August 8-) ) an incredible run of 2 defeats in what, 16?

Made even more incredible given the ******** they had to deal with since the restart, this management team and group of players have proved again how special they are. Let's hope the board can back the manager financially as much as he needs over the summer as with the right additions we can keep progressing.

Enjoy the rest of the summer folks.

Totally agree with OP
Just hope that it was not SD last game in charge otherwise things will get much harder to retain our Premier League status whoever comes in

Still so proud of the team , what an achievement with a scratch squad as well.
They deserve a well earned break.

Totally agree-and actually we could have won today, or at least drawn. Severe exhaustion eventually told-just look at the number of fresh faces Brighton could bring on. Big challenge now for the Technical director and his team to show they have not been totally dormant the last two years

They've pulled out all the stops again, and since the Chelsea game we've been on an incredible run, i actually predicted 11th, so i was in the right ballpark, what's been even more impressive is how they've dealt with the restart, and all the contract disputes and injuries to contend with, and they've kept on reeling off results, even today despite not being at our best we could have easily had a point but for the VAR call.

Now the crucial aspect is SD staying or going, if he stays you'd be fairly confident about retaining PL status, but if he left and we had the upheaval of a new management team, and probably new players coming in, and some leaving, then next season could be a battle, even with Sean at the helm it'd be a battle, but well his style isn't to everyone's taste, he's proven year on year that he knows what it takes to maintain Burnley as a solid PL club.

Have to keep SD at all costs.I am more confident now than when we played Man City. Time for MG to do the right things

We’ve finished in an excellent position. As many suggested, top 7 and a place in Europe probably would have stretched us next season.

We fans need to look at ourselves. There were many doom mongers predicting relegation at the start of the season. Let’s be more optimistic/ confident this coming season.

Retaining Sean is essential and I suspect he needs to see funds to invest in new young talent. We probably need to sell one of our key defensive players to fund this.

A new season is only a few weeks away. Enjoy your summer and let’s hope we can again watch live matches in person. UTC!

Today turned out to be a “bridge too far” for what must be an exhausted squad. Totally proud of our club on so many fronts, not least of which is the way it is run from top to bottom. I love the way we are unfashionable, underdogs, punching above our weight and any other cliches that people may want to throw at us. I do not want to see foreign owners of any race or creed.
