Big season ahead in more ways than one.

Post by bfccrazy » Sun Jul 26, 2020 11:02 pm

With Hendrick happy to walk away from first team football here because we made him an (in his eyes) unsatisfactory offer .... could this be a massive season off the pitch for us with many important players coming to the end of deals, players who are in demand and could get other clubs if they wind down their contracts.

Surely we must be working to get deals signed ASAP for extensions etc?

In an ideal world, these players we need to keep at all costs (I’ve not included Brownhill as he’s just joined)

Crown Jewels (keep unless silly money offered)
Pope, Taylor, Mee, Tarkowski, Westwood, McNeil, Wood

Preferable to keep (but not the end of the world if they leave)
Barnes, Rodriguez, Vydra, Cork

Players who do a job, but need replacing in the next year or so
Pieters, Lowton, Bardsley, JBG, Brady, Long

And.. Gibson (fire out of the club in a cannon)

The good thing is almost all of our 'key' players that have long term value all have a good few years left on their deal. Well done to the club on them!

Need to keep Rodriguez too, he has been excellent in 2020, scored some good goals and is a skilful, class act - a footballer with brains who reads the game.

WE have released a number of sizeable salaries-Hart, Lennon, Hendrick. Gibson needs sorting out, and quick. We made money by getting to 10th spot. Thats a solid start to recruit in the priority positions
