Erik Pieters
Great post from Pieters and what a great message to other potential players our existing squad will give.
Spoke to someone indirectly connected to the club on Friday who said the feedback about the team spirit is world class. Every single player who is there now gets on like a house on fire. Never any fall outs. Despite training hard.
Long May it continue.

Erik certainly comes across very well ... and as a likeable lad...
You only have to watch the training sessions on C-Player to see the rapport between the lads... The banter that was going on in the tunnel on Sunday pre-match too.

Re: Erik Pieters
All seemed a bit underwhelming when he signed but he's played a major part on the pitch and sounds like exactly the type of character you need off it. Really rate Taylor but never overly worried if Pieters deputises - generally does the right thing and appears to be a cool and experienced head out there.

Erik has improved week on week and like the other ex Stoke player Bardsley looks a gem of a signing

He's shown to be an impressive & versatile player.
Hard as nails too. Doesn't duck out of a challenge.

Re: Erik Pieters
Virtually every player who comes into the club mentions the amazing team spirit coupled with the welcome they receive. It’s very much key to our manager ensuring as much as possible that the right characters are brought in.
I spoke to a player I know well back in January. It would be unfair to say who but it was the week after his wonder goal at Old Trafford. I asked him if he’d settled in and he said it was easy with the lads we have at Burnley.
I remember going to Gawthorpe not too far short of two years ago with Colin McDonald. He and his wife spoke about the behaviour we witnessed from our players that day. They were pleasant, polite, welcoming and made you feel really proud that they were representing your club. The captain then was Tom Heaton. He was brilliant with Colin.
It was a special occasion and our players ensured it was memorable.

Re: Erik Pieters
What a ball in for Woods goal.
Had that been Pogba to Rashford you’d be watching it every ten minutes on sky...
Happy with Erik, as mentioned earlier, if CT is out, it’s not the end of the world. He’s a traditional type left back, but finds a great ball in as shown on Sunday.

Re: Erik Pieters
I work in Manchester so I'm surrounded by Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool fans etc. I attended last season's player of the year awards where I got to meet all the players with the family and they all took time to chat and pose for photos, nothing was too much trouble. Obviously showed the lads at work and they all couldn't believe how up close and personal we could get to the players, what a great night it was. Only issue now is Mrs seems to have fallen in love with Pope (he's such a nice lad she's always says!)
This is why our club is so fantastic, we have great players that are grounded and still in touch with the fans, reaching the prem it could of been so easy to become disconnected and think they don't need to bother with the fans but that night every single player interacted.

Re: Erik Pieters
One of the nicest posts I have read on this Board. This is a guy who has bid his time when Taylor featured but came in playing right wide midfield recently, more than making a major contribution and kept his place in that great run of results

He was covering the pass. Don't blame him. You'd expect Long to do better.Local cricketer wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 9:15 amBacked off that far for the 2nd goal on sunday he was virtually in the cricket club

Re: Erik Pieters
Bang average, quite possibly. However, with the exception of maybe 2 or 3, isn't our team made up of average players, and molded into a competitive unit? Pieters showed his versatility when he was forced to play way out of position for a few games, never let us down.Local cricketer wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 6:25 pmOh yes fully agree but it seems some on here see Pieters has put a nice post on insta and seem to want to turn him into the 2nd coming.

I must admit for 45 minutes against West Ham he looked like a dutch pirlo spraying the ball aroundexilecanada wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 6:52 pmBang average, quite possibly. That's exactly my point, Pieters is a very accomplished footballer. Sure, his days of containing a speedy winger are probably behind him, but could extend his career as a midfielder in certain situations. Dyche is no dummy ya know!
