Re: Without VAR: Where we would have finished
Pointless exercise.
On the assumption VAR was right then the league table is as it should be with referees mistakes having been eliminated.
Equally it assumes that if VAR had not intervened that the game, and all other results would have panned out the same. That is unlikely.

Re: Without VAR: Where we would have finished
How do they allow for any goals that might have been flagged offside if the linesmen didn't have VAR to help them?

Re: Without VAR: Where we would have finished
How many corners have been awarded this season when a player has been marginally offside but the AR is instructed not to flag if it is tight because if a goal results they can check it with VAR. However, a goal does not result and no check is made and a corner is awarded and a goal is scored from the corner, yet it should have been an offside decision before the corner.
I don't know the answer to my question, although I do know that there have been several instances at matches I have attended live and also seen on TV where corners have been won when it should have been offside instead.

There was also a game, not involving us, when a player was flagged offside and the referee blew before he put the ball in the net. When it was looked at, it was not offside but VAR wasn't able to intervene.

Re: Without VAR: Where we would have finished
The biggest farce was Lucas at sheff Utd. Shocking decision.
The game has gone backwards with var and I said it from day one.
Why bring in something that interrupts the flow of the game with no guaranteed improvement on results!
While Bournemouth shouldn’t have any complaints or rights of appeal. It’s ironic that a team has gone down ultimately by one goal that shouldn’t have been disallowed and car should’ve overturned the decision.

Don't think it would have made any difference at Sheffield United , we were awful that day .

I think VAR is great, and essential to the game. Don't agree with those who say it wrecks the game at all. Yeah improvements are to be made, but its to be expected when making such a big change to the game.
