Who is our highest wage earner?
Does anyone know the answer to this? I'm talking about the players rather than anyone else connected to the club. If so, roughly how much will they be on?
Just curious.
Just curious.

More than a years wage in a week for most on here, then double it for some.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
Been debated before on the MMT thread, but the truth is that no-one outside of the Club has that level of information. We know all the historical Wage bills in total and the fact that the players' wages are very highly incentivised in terms of bonuses, but that's about it.
The Wage bill suggests that the first team squad possibly earn in the region of £40k/£45k per week plus bonuses.

I’d be surprised if it isn’t Ben Mee.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
Dyche is the top earner, followed by Wood and Mee who are thought to be on the same wage

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
The OP did ask specifically for the highest paid player. I think it's pretty common knowledge that Sean Dyche is the highest paid employee on the books, although his salary is often exaggerated particularly on here.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 10:51 pmDyche is the top earner, followed by Wood and Mee who are thought to be on the same wage
I doubt anyone has that level of knowledge regarding the players, although we can all speculate.

Just imagine earning that amount of money every week for playing football. What would you even do with it all? Mind boggling.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
seeing those wages actually makes me become a hater of football immediately. best not put those figures in the spotlight, I would rather regard the Burnley players as something else, something that makes me want to support them.

I concur that only a few at the club (the Premier League, the FA, agents, lawyers. accountants) know for certain but there are specialist websites out there that offer such detail and on the better ones the sums appear to add up to the ball park figure when bonuses are included

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
But that's whats required for simply being part of the Premier League, Wile.
Remember we are paid around £120 million each season by the PL and they expect that Income to be utilised on players.
Also, at our levels, we are still in the bottom three in the Prem in terms of total Wage bill.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
I don’t get the hate and jealousy when PL players wages are talked about.
Film stars or rock stars and nobody gives a flying one. These are amongst the best in the world. They train hard and then get kicked up in the air on a Saturday. They earn every penny. They don’t come close to US sports stars, golfers and tennis players but because everybody thinks they can kick a ball around for some strange reason they get a doing whenever salary comes up.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
We were paying Jason Shackell £35-40k a week back in the day as the clubs highest earner, so would expect wages to be a little higher now.

Jason was worth every penny ,he was the best o.g specialist in the country eclipsing even the legendary Graham Roberts, who back in the day managed two o.gs in our cup win v Spurs

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
Don't begrudge any of our top earners like Mee, Tarks, Pope earning those figurers. Its the world we live in, and we finished in the top half of the table. These guys could double their wages at certain other clubs
The maths I don't want to do with several of our players is to divide the annual salary by minutes played-that would somewhat depress me

I thought the range over the first team squad was more compacted. Certainly was a couple of years ago

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
They are being paid for this month as well it is a football practice (rule?) that players are paid for the month after the end of their contract if not renewing to tide them over before finding a new deal - it is a very old practice but still vital for many players especially towards the lower leaguesLongsidelenny1882 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 9:07 amWhat about the money the club is saving at these uncertain times with hart Lennon Hendrick going early now to me that is good housekeeping utc

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
A good source told me Bardsley was on 45k a week for his first deal here.
For a right back it shocked me a little, the n you realise he came from Stoke who were throwing wages about at the time. Not likely to throw a 70k a week contract away for 25k here.

I just look at it that players pay a lot of tax into our country from mainly foreign money.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:46 pmI don’t get the hate and jealousy when PL players wages are talked about.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
Whoever it is they've pretty much all earnt it!
Given how much is built on relationships, team spirit and respect, I wouldnt be surprised if it was Ben Mee as Captain. While we have other more talented players and probably more sought after you cant argue with Captain being highest paid.
Equally I dont think any of the players would begrudge it being Wood - best goalscorer and biggest signing or Tarkowski. England Centre half.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
I'd guess the average is about 40 grand a week now, with maybe a few on 45-50.

Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
If I remember rightly we paid Kightly’s wages in full when he was on loan from Stoke, which were more than any of our players that year (about £50k) I think
Re: Who is our highest wage earner?
They'd be a lot less supercars made without football players.
