Well we seem to have done ok since lockdown without them. Just out of curiosity re Hendrick, of the number of starts, how often was be subbed? I was quite surprised that he only came on from the bench on 15 occasions.

'Was that a reason for the improvement or was Joe Hart just very unlucky to be in goal during our worst spell in the Premier League since our return for years ago?'
Don't want to reignite the Hart love/hate debate, but my take on it was that he is still a very good keeper but that his communication with the defence was nowhere near as vocal as Tom's. It looks like Nick Pope has learned the Heaton style, rather than Hart's, and it seems to work for us.
So on that basis, I'd say Hart was a bit unlucky to have such strong competition!!

I wonder if the warmth Hendrick received, or didn't, from the supporters influenced his desire to move on

Sometimes goalkeepers just lose confidence and never get it back. I remember Marlon Beresford was a different keeper after he ruptured his spleen in a collision at Stoke, he was far too hesitant after that understandably. Joe Hart hasn't really recovered from the Iceland debacle, and from what I saw of him when playing for us, he is a spent force as a top keeper.

Re: ARTICLE: Farewell to Hendrick Lennon and Hart
There was a variety of reasons for our poor defensive record in that time, but we didn't look the same solid unit with Hart in goal, and one of his biggest weaknesses was he didn't command his area, this increased pressure on Mee, Tarks and co to deal with any balls into the box, and we struggled as a result, once Tom returned, and there was a few other changes we became a strong back 5 again.Dougall wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 1:22 pm'Was that a reason for the improvement or was Joe Hart just very unlucky to be in goal during our worst spell in the Premier League since our return for years ago?'

Anyway best of luck to all 3 in finding a new club, they all behaved in a professional manner during their BFC period, and whenever they were called upon, they did the job the manager wanted, but Hendrick apart i doubt we'll miss them hugely.
And we needed to trim the wage bill, and try and get some younger blood in the squad. So if that requires players to move on so be it.

According to The Telegraph, Hart is surprisingly signing for Spurs
