Lots of our friends down the road only refer to Steve Kean as “Keanscum” on their forum, something about that always brightens my mood

Glen Little was known as Blakey and to be fair he did sound like him.
And looked like him. Imo.

Many sports nicknames are pretty poor Giggsy, Gazza, Grezza, Payts, etc.
And some are so contrived that I doubt they were ever used outside a sports page. I mean - did anyone ever call Greg Norman “The Great White Shark” in real life?
My favourite, along with Fitz Hall, is the nickname given to the former dual code Welsh rugby international, Dai Young.

Only The Good...

Sorry not sport.
On a building site everyone used to call this guy
'Ankles'. He was dead proud of it too. He even painted it on his hard hat.
After about 6 months I finally asked someone why we call him Ankles.

Oh him was the reply, he is so far up the foreman's ar*e that's all we can see of him.

I was at training school with a creepy guy named Lovegrove. He was desperate to win the best recruit. it didn't take long for him to get an "l" added to the end. Lovegrovel for the rest of the course. He won it as well but nobody else gave a hoot.

Not a nick name but anyone see that Luton player on the Turf named Watt with the number 40 on his shirt
A bit dim, by all accounts.

How about teams as opposed to people?

New Zealand Basketball team: Tall Blacks
New Zealand Football team: All Whites
New Zealand Cricket team: Black Caps
New Zealand Hockey team: Black Sticks
New Zealand Badminton Team: Black Cocks (I kid ye not.)

There are more but not as good.

Off topic but whenever I hear Mark Waugh’s name mentioned it reminds me of him sledging Jimmy Ormond, who got an England cap in the final Ashes test of 2001.
“How was he good enough to play for England”?
The reply, “Well at least I’m the best player in my family”
