Season record.
Those 3 home defeats to CP, BHA & AV still hurt. Next seasons challenge is not to concede 2 in home games.
Re: Season record.
Our record against those teams 11th or below is
pretty impressive.
Against the top 8 not so as to be expected but even
then we got a couple of wins and 6 draws which isn't that .
The draw at Liverpool and win against United stand out.
pretty impressive.

Re: Season record.
Only two victories where we've conceded. Obviously if you don't concede then you don't lose, but if we concede then we don't win, generally.
Good to know for in play betting I suppose!

Re: Season record.
It is pretty impressive considering the ruled out goal away at Leicester and the last minute penalty at Wolves which would have improved this further.
You'd always expect the results to be better against the lower teams, but maybe its an indication of how we approach games against the top teams in that the chances of holding out for 90 minutes is vastly reduced versus doing the same against a Watford and then being able to nick a goal to win it.

Re: Season record.
Doing the double over a quarter of the teams in the division is pretty good though. Thumping Man U at O.T. was rather special as well.
And the only team to get a point at Anfield. Brilliant.

Re: Season record.
We’ve always managed to achieve a double in every Premier League season but five is a record. Just had a look and it’s been.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 5:15 pmDoing the double over a quarter of the teams in the division is pretty good though. 2009/10: Hull
2014/15: Hull
2016/17: Crystal Palace
2017/18: Everton, Watford
2018/19: Bournemouth, Brighton, Cardiff
2019/20: Bournemouth, Norwich, Southampton, Watford, West Ham
Re: Season record.
Is it especially geeky to notice that Dyche's doubles have gone in a Fibonacci series? (And if it is, thanks!)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 12:02 amWe’ve always managed to achieve a double in every Premier League season but five is a record. Just had a look and it’s been.

So next year we do the double over 8 clubs, and the year after, 13. For 21 the year after that, we'll have to win a few two-leg European ties or group games. No problem!
Re: Season record.
An impressive increase over the last four seasons
but don't wish to put the dampers on dsr as much as I would wish
to see us continue in the same vein and improve the number of doubles.
But three of the teams we managed to 'do the double' over have gone down and our
results against them have played a large part in them doing so.
We'll have to improve a notch or two next season to achieve similar
as the three teams coming up (Leeds, West Brom and either Brentford or Fulham)
will, I feel, be stiffer opposition than those going down.
And teams like Everton, Southampton, Brighton, Newcastle and West Ham
are more than likely to also improve.
Going to be a tough season again.

Re: Season record.
The same stuck record gets played every season. Norwich walked the Championship when they came up. Fulham are just going to be like Villa. West Brom and Leeds don't seem any stronger than previous clubs who have been promoted directly. The number of points they got suggest that.jurek wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 12:48 amAn impressive increase over the last four seasons

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that the likes of West Ham, Brighton, Newcastle, Southampton or Everton are going to be any different either.
Re: Season record.
Southampton aside, who I think may surprise next season. I agree with the above. Everton for me is the weird one. Their squad is bang average at best and it's going to take a major overhaul of the squad to appease Ancelotti. Still think the only reason he went there was for the money. It certainly wasn't because he was excited to be working with the players at his disposal.

Re: Season record.
Having lost 9-0 at home against Leicester - they more than rescued things and only seven teams picked up more points from that day onwards. They had a strange season though. Over the entire season only Norwich picked up less home points but only Liverpool and Manchester City won more away points.
Re: Season record.
I think everyone thought they were goners after that 0-9. Strange season indeed but I just feel they may improve next season at home. Assuming they hold onto Ings. Quite a remarkable turnaround after that defeat.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 10:35 amHaving lost 9-0 at home against Leicester - they more than rescued things and only seven teams picked up more points from that day onwards. Re: Season record.
Their home record was appalling to be honest but they won 9 away games which is a hell of a return. They can look a very good side at times but I'd written them off after that 9-0 defeat.
