Funny how low they seem now. Wouldn’t be giving McNeil a 6.7 for the season....

The problem comes with the over reaction to defeats when the 3s and 4s get posted

Some very harsh ratings there. I wonder what people would give if they were to rate each player on the season now.

I liked Hendrick, would like to have kept him, but no way has he had a better season than Jay, Wood or even Pieters.

It would also be interesting to discuss the 'most improved player' over the last 12 months.

Chris Wood would be my choice.

Totally shows the fickle nature of the ratings.....

If you asked the question - If Burnley were to finish 10th in the league this season, how would you rate the season - Unbelievable, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Above Average, Average, Below Average, Disappoining, Poor, Abysmal.... I suspect you'd be up in the Good and Above phrases...... Yet no single player gets a rating of Very Good (8 out of 10).

When you look at them, for the entire season, they really are too low but for one example why, look at these ratings for the game at Man City. I didn’t expect high scores after a 5-0 defeat but with some there was no appreciation of who we were playing.

5.77 – Matěj Vydra
5.69 – James Tarkowski
5.46 – Jack Cork & Dwight McNeil
5.23 – Matt Lowton, Ben Mee, Erik Pieters & Charlie Taylor
5.15 – Josh Brownhill, Jay Rodriguez & Ashley Westwood
5.00 – Nick Pope

Not surprising to see our top 4 are all defenders.
Close to £100m worth of talent there.
