ARTICLE: A goodbye to some of our young players
Was all a bit of a rush last month when they announced the academy retained list just as we were about to play a first team game. Now I've had time to get something on the site other than just a list.

Any news on Philips and Harker CT? I understood Koiki had declined a new contract. Adam Philips came from Norwich? Seems to have done OK on loan last season although it was at Morecambe

Uncertain times for all of us currently and especially for the young lads looking to pursue a career in football elsewhere. Good luck to all of you and congratulations to those aiming to progress with us.

Whats the idea of a 3rd Year as a scholar Tony ? Arent they normally signed as Full Time pros or released after a 2 year scholarship ?

It varies. Last year three of the second year scholars were kept on. Bobby Thomas got a two year pro deal but the other two, Kai Calderbank-Park and Will Harris, got a scholarship extension.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 4:53 pmWhats the idea of a 3rd Year as a scholar Tony ? It will depend on how they see the player I would think. If it is looking at them for a further year then the scholarship option is favourable.

I really hope O'Neill decides to return and give things q shot. Seems like the ideal time to apply himself.

Phillips moved here and wants, to be in the 23. Koiki won’t sign because of BayodeStoneGate

Bullying and Alleged racism that saw our previous coach accused, investigated and , finally, shunted into a completely different role

You obviously know more than I do because the info I had suggested it was nothing to do with Tunde Bayode whatsoever and there was never any suggestion of racism whatsoever.CharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 8:49 amBullying and Alleged racism that saw our previous coach accused, investigated and , finally, shunted into a completely different role

Is the offer of a 3rd year scholarship as opposed to a full professional contract what lies behind the tale from a few weeks back of Thompson's representatives supposedly arguing with the club over money ?

No, I don't think so. That was a strange one and one I'm not inclined to believe. Thompson was already under contract until the end of next season. That was the info the club put out when he signed in December.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 10:56 amIs the offer of a 3rd year scholarship as opposed to a full professional contract what lies behind the tale from a few weeks back of Thompson's representatives supposedly arguing with the club over money ?
