The bin is back out over the next two days from 12 noon to 8 p.m. on the corner of Padiham Road and Brassey Street, collecting for Clarets for Foodbanks, supporting the foodbank at Burnley Community Kitchen.

If you can support it with a donation then please do.

The foodbank were appealing yesterday for urgent donations as they were running out of stock and have been overwhelmed with families needing food in the past few weeks.

They really are desperate.

The need is getting greater and I can only see it increasing in the immediate future.

It’s aimed at those people who need its support. The response from local people when we have had the bin out recently has been brilliant.

Saw it on the way back from the cricket yesterday evening, will pop a few tins in today when I'm out with the dog.

Keep up the good work, and please keep bumping these threads as I'm sure many who live at this corner of town wont directly pass it, as many will come onto padiham rd at at either the Bobbin lights or Pendle way junction.

Thanks MACCA - every single item that goes in the bin will provide someone with much needed food.

My fault for not reading properly, I'll pop back later.

Lowerhouse play Burnley on Monday in
the T20, could the bin organisers possibly get in touch with the club asking if they could maybe put a bin at either entrance. The clubs could then put it on the respective social media pages for people to bring a tin or 2, it's also a different area of town too.

Decent weather predicted too, so might be a few on.

That's a damn good shout MACCA - only problem is that it is Bank Holiday and I don't know whether there will be access to the bins but I can only ask. Would need to speak to Lowerhouse first though.

I know Hopey off here is well connected down there, and does a lot of the media stuff, so could possibly pass on some details, or if you email me, I could pass on Stan or Frank Entwistle number via email.

Nothing to lose in asking

Lot to do to get this to happen but I've contacted Matt at Lowerhouse to ask if it is possible. He will have to give the OK on it, then I'd have to see if anyone could get the bins out there. But still a good idea if we can make it happen.

Meanwhile our bin should be out on Padiham Road now.

Excellent, well if I can help in anyway I will.

I will make it our mini charity of choice through work, so will start our own little fill a bin challenge when I return in Sept.

The more help we can get, the better, it is going to be needed more and more after the last few months.
