Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
Burnley Express linking us to Teemu Pukki. Any legs to this story?

Hopefully not. Looked miles out of his depth.
Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
Had a good season but we don't need a striker unless we are getting rid of one.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
He clearly has goals in him and we all know that 11 goals in the PL isn't something easily achieved.
We also know that it can take time to adjust to this league so I wouldn't necessarily write him off in this sense either. Tom Heaton was part of a relegated team and conceded goals and we have shown that it can be more than just the player that you need to consider.
Im not saying he is right for us given the 4 forwards we have but it wouldn't be the worst signing in the world

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
He had a great start to the season but then confidence drained out of him and their side as it often does with losing sides.
The Burnley Express is a useless clickbait site these days, but the sites so bad you don't even stay around that long for more clicks.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
Would be good if we use Vydra to get someone like Cash and then replaced him with Pukki. Pukki goes in behind like Vydra but is a more complete striker for us at this level. Vydra and Gibson could hel give us funds for a right back, right wing, and then we can get someone like Pukki relatively cheaply.
Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
That's a terrible article for the local paper to publish. And some on here call lancs live clickbait

We are well served with forwards.
If we're determined to splash the cash, there are much more urgent positions that need reinforcing.

He is 30 so age fits our squad

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
I’d believe it was the Burnley Express if it was written by Chris Boden or Dan Black.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
He had a good first 6 games, after that he dried up like a prune, to the point he wasn't even guaranteed a start. I think we've already got better, even on the bench.

As I said we don't need him. I'd have him here if there was a gap in the squad. But there isn't currently.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 12:04 pmHe had a good first 6 games, after that he dried up like a prune, to the point he wasn't even guaranteed a start. I had to unfollow Burnley Express on my Facebook feed. It’s just Click Bait articles, with an almost unresponsive website littered with adverts, pop-ups, surveys and shockingly poor content.

For all the Vydra fans. He was very unhappy here at Xmas. Zizkov, I believe, posted an article from the Czech press. He could well still want out?

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
I think it's the same everywhere on Facebook, due to how the Facebook system works. Clicks, comments and likes/other emoticons increases the reach of the post. And more clicks means more advertising clicks when people reach the website.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Sat Aug 01, 2020 12:58 pmI had to unfollow Burnley Express on my Facebook feed. I've got into the habit of just reading a few comments that other people have posted - you can generally workout what the content is without reading it.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
No thanks.
Hopefully there’s nothing in this... utterly pointless acquisition unless one of the four is leaving. If they aren’t and he comes in, he’d clearly be fifth choice. You’d have to ask yourself why we’d consider this when there are more important things need looking at.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
5th choice forward for us should be a youth player. Someone on the conveyor-belt to squeeze his way onto the bench and get minutes here and there to gain experience. If he was to come in, it'll be because somebody is leaving.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
An even worse idea than buying him. Why swap a 28 year old striker with some potential to improve or sell-on for one whose no better and only going to go downhill value-wise?

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
The forward line is one area that we're well served in, so thanks but no thanks, we need other positions strengthened way above the strikers.
Pukki did well initially, but he's looked lost since Xmas, and the goals have dried up.
Centre mid and right wing are the priority signings we need this summer.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
I think it was the BE site that wanted me to complete surveys to read an article.
It reminded me of the old CM Site with pop up ads getting in the way of trying to read and view the site. I guess one good thing to come from them was my permanent use of adblocker on my browser.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
regardless of whether there's anything accurate in the piece, Pukki has an eye for goal. Can't be easy to show that ability when the team around you are hopeless beyond belief.

The only reason I could see for this is that we've had a substantial offer for Vydra.

Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
Good player would be a good signing for the price.
Re: Burnley Express and Teemu Pukki
He has no pace. That's why he hasn't made an impact at Premier league level.
Too often he'd be put clear through by the midfield only to be caught by defenders.
Vydra would not have been caught like that 70% of the time and would have got a shot away. Pukki would be more likely to have then buried it, but he wasn't getting to that point in the first place.
