When the going gets tough... Eddie gets going.

Shows how heads screwed on both our board and Sean were when we got relegated. So easy to either pull the trigger or jump ship.

They’re just trying to dress it up.

He’ll have been potted.

Bit surprising, but I suppose they aren’t really like us. We are both small clubs, but when we went down, we let SD get on with the building job, presumably with their backers, they feel they can do better than Eddie?

From potential England/Arsenal manager to this in barely a year is some fall.

Maybe both parties just think the relationship has run it’s course, and it’d be hard to disagree.

Anyone who thinks Dyche would stick around if we got relegated again after keeping us in the Premier League for four years plus is in cloud cuckoo land

Spot on.......25 years as player and manager with one club is more than enough.

He's put Bournemouth on the football map. Yes, it's probably time he went, but he's given Bournemouth some great times.

This confirms it was a club decision. Below from the chief exec.

“A decision like this cannot be taken lightly, which is why this has been discussed together at length over the past few days. It is even harder given our close personal friendship.”

I know he’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but he kept Bournemouth in the EFL despite them having a 17 point deduction, then took them to 3 promotions and kept them in the PL for 4 years.

I can’t think of another manager in my lifetime who has done anything remotely similar, even with significant financial backing.

I don’t think he’s going to get a top 6 job anytime soon, but I’m not sure how he flatters to deceive?

Arry said the other week that he’d never set foot in the ground again if they potted Howe. Apparently he takes his grandson most home games.

He can have a job here as a scout anytime he likes, not the
Most successful manager here but i thought he brought
Some very good players to burnley

The myth has been potted eh?

The mantra of you score 3, we’ll score 2 failed to survive this season. One of the most insipid managers in the league. Very much style over substance.... him and Gilet Jase.

Great servant for Bournemouth as both player and manager.
Will rightly be regarded as their best ever manager and he's left then in a better place than they were when he took over.

He will find another job soon enough, he's not a bad manager, just had a very tough season.

I know hes not every ones cup of tea on this Board. We are all entitled to our opinions. He did bring some great players to Burnley-Ings, Austin, Mee, Trippier, Shackell,Vokes, Stanislas (to certain degree). Yes a fair bit of dross too like Hines, Porter, Bartley and one or two others. However the good ones were very good. Always thought he was more of an "attacking" coach, than a defensive one. Dyche by contrast has made us hard to beat and finds ways of beating a team

Eddy has done an absolutely phenomenal job in a club that can only house 11,000 fans. His rise through the leagues with Bournemouth was unprecedented. I hope the PL does not lose him. I would rather have 20 English/British coaches in the PL than foreign ones

Its great for us-if he was to join the likes of Palace or Villa, its another club Dyche cannot join. I wish him well

His letter reads differently, though of course it's difficult to know.

He is basically thanking Jason for all the time they have spent working together, kind of reads like he's leaving him behind.

Nothing said about any of the staff. I assume that might wait until they appoint a new manager.

He was great to deal with whilst at Burnley for the people in official roles.

I think the rumours on here that he was a knob were just because he got few of the people, who thought they deserved ‘special access’ to the club, backs up by denying them it.

Good luck Eddie. I know you still read this site ;)

This takes Sean Dyche to the 2nd longest serving manager in the EPL/EFL structure of 91 Clubs .... behind Gareth Ainsworth, at Wycombe Wanderers.

When your team has to score on average over 1.5 goals per game, every game in the Premier League just to get a point, your luck is going to come to an end. Just surprised Eddie and Perma Tan Jase rode their luck for as long as they did.

I wish him nothing but the best. What a wonderful job he's done for Bournemouth and he will rightly be remembered as their greatest ever manager. Nothing lasts forever and last season was one too far.

Some of the comments on here are ridiculous but totally expected. Sad.

Some pretty disrespectful coments on here. Yes we all know he seems clueless as to how to organise a defence but he gave SD a fantastic platform with which to build from with the players he left us. He was certainly instrumemtal in a small part of our early success under SD because of the players he had brought in.

As with any manager who is potted, I've only so much sympathy, as I'm pretty sure he'll receive a generous severance package!
