Harrogate-Notts County

Post by tiger76 » Sun Aug 02, 2020 1:34 pm

National play off final today, whoever goes up it'll provide a story, Harrogate in the Football League for the first time in their history, or the league's oldest club reclaiming their status again.

I'll be siding with Harrogate as it's not too far away.

Harrogate for me, nothing against either team but you feel the size of Notts County at that level they will come again but for Harrogate this could their only chance.

Saw my first game of League Football at Meadow Lane in 1970, they're my Dad's team, as a Nottingham lad ....
He's 84 now, suffering with vascular dementia, so for him ..... " Come on, County " !! :D :D

To get Barrow and Harrogate in the League would be brilliant.

Good start for Harrogate. First thought was that the goalkeeper should have done better but it’s a good finish.

Hope harrogate go up.
Would Be nice if we could get a friendly v them 23s or otherwise.

I heard on the build up that their 3g pitch would be ripped up Tuesday if they win as football league dont allow them.

Don’t think so, go about 5 times a year, when we are away. . Just think if they win a team 10 years in front of us will be coming to town. :D

Could and maybe should be 4-0

As Rowan Atkinson said as football manager "There's always the second half"
Hope they don't regret those missed chances 3-0 up is more than 50% of 2-0 in football maths

Oh yes, I forgot about that and I heard of some City fans who left early really ****** off and when they heard it was going into extra-time they tried to get back into the stadium.

Typical game of 2 halves, this sport is so strange. If it's level after 90 it's straight to penalties.

Always root for the "new" teams in the National League promotion race...so pleased that Barrow and Harrogate have come up even though the older posters amongst us have seen them before

Well done to Harrogate they finished 2nd in the regular season, and they were miles the better team today a thoroughly deserved promotion.

I'm not sure many well fancy a trip to Barrow or Harrogate in the depths of winter, it might be a bit parky.

Just a few hours in that elevated position. Ainsworth went first when Bentley left Morecambe but he’s down to second now.

The Manager was a shoo in for the job there. His dad owns the club
