Billie Bean mentions Burnley
Billie Bean mentions Burnley
Billie Bean is the guy that the film Moneyball was based on.
In this short documentary he uses Burnley and Manchester United as an example of his Oakland budget versus New York Yankees
https://youtu.be/lLcXH_4rwr4
Very interesting as we enter the silly season of buying and selling players.
Fame at last...UTC

"Billy Bean built a machine to see what it could do. He made it out of sticks and stones, and nuts and bolts and glue."
"The motor ran, chuttle-a-bang, ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-torator, And all of a sudden a picture appeared on the funny old cartoonerator".

Re: Billie Bean mentions Burnley
There was also another Billy Bean: w. G. Bean was an entrepreneur who operated at the beginning of the 20 th century, He was known as Billy Bean. He had worked in the States and visited Coney Island. When he came back to the UK he set up the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool and I believe the park still remains in the family and is run by his great, great grand daughter.

I have just finished reading Christoph Biermann's book "Football Hackers: The Science and Art of a Data Revolution". A great read and Sean Dyche and Burnley FC get some very positive mentions in it. Nick Pope is also included in a table that charts "expected goals" and "goals conceded" in 3rd place with a positive figure of 3.18 (de Gea 5.64 and Dubrovka 4.77). The chart does not state for which season though.
