Tony Morris Granada

Post by wilks_bfc » Mon Aug 03, 2020 4:13 pm

Granada presenter, Tony Morris, died over the weekend.

He was diagnosed with kidney cancer last year and was still presenting a few weeks ago.

He and Lucy were a good double act during the teatime show

What a strong brave guy carrying on presenting without showing the trouble he was going through. Consummate professional to the end , respect.

He was one of those people with a Cheshire cat smile that would make others want to smile.

Thats a shock. Hadnt realised he was ill. Especially as I had seen him present recently. Good presenter, Surprised he didnt do the national news.

R. I. P Tony.

Came across as a likeable man and was very good at his job.
Reading his obituary, he didn't always have things easy in his early years.
Far too young to have left us.

Certainly is a shock. He was an incredible presenter with a very dry sense of humour. He would mention now and again that he was a Portsmouth fan.

RIP Tony. Came across as very genuine and modest. My housebound dad who was hard of hearing used to look forward to his spot I think partly because his voice and diction were so clear.

A smile that really did light up the television screen.

What a lovely tribute on Granada Reports tonight.
Very moving.

RIP Tony

Must have been extreamely hard for Lucy to do that report tonight, she held it well right to the end.
Not ashamed to say even I started welling up at the end when she went.

Very sad news. I had the pleasure of knowing Tony after teaching him guitar for a few years. He was an absolute gentleman and although he was a Pompey fan, he always spoke very highly of the Clarets. I would often bump into him in Haslingden Tesco and kept in touch through messages. I hadn't heard from him or seen him for a while but I didn't know he'd been ill so it was a bit of a shock receiving this news today.

Like others, shocked to read this; a cracking reporter who always had a smile, taken far too young. Rest in Peace.

Great shame as mentioned was only presenting a couple of weeks ago....as one door shuts another will open. Safe journey Lad.
