The articles from the 59-60 season highlighted most teams having very good attacking players and the trend seems to continue here despite them being Second Division players. Hutchinson, Ainscow and Mickey Burns were all players any team would have welcomed into their squads at the time.

Tommy Hutch was unbelievably quick back then and he gave most full backs a torrid time. Ainscow & Burns were decent players too and my mate Keith got a fair share of goals.

Recall Burns doing well at Newcastle after he left Blackpool.

John Burridge in goal. Incredible career, spanning 30 years and playing for no less
than 29 clubs. 768 league games.

Just had a look on Wiki and the list of clubs just goes on and on straight down the page. :)

Two awful results (Bristol Rovers and Blackpool) that I've only recently discovered. The only pre-season game I remembered was the Lincoln one, which I was at. I can understand why people were pessimistic now. The last six games of the previous season must have seemed like a distant memory. I can't remember the Dave Thomas problems either. He was an outstanding winger and should've been an automatic choice.

Thomas was one on of a list of players who had problems with Adamson. The problem with Thomas was that everyone knew he was a shining light. He was unbelievably talented.
