Sanchez Gets a £9Million Pay Off from United
To facilitate his transfer from MU to Inter, Alexis Sanchez
has took a reported nine million quid to pay up his contract, which had around two years still to run.
This is actually a good deal for United, for he'd be due around £30 million to see his deal at OT out.
On £130,000 a week in Italy, rather than the £560,000 he's leaving behind.
Truly huge sums, emphasising the gulf between the super-clubs and the likes of us.

No sympathy for United. Was a stupid deal.
Fair do’s to Sanchez for taking the cut to get first team football.

Total insanity by Man U agreeing this contract in the first place just to stop City signing him

What went wrong for him at Man Utd on the pitch? He looked a top player at Arsenal. Definitely one of the best individuals I've seen play in the flesh

Agreed. A real threat with the ball at his feet. A very classy, modern day player.

Re: Sanchez Gets a £9Million Pay Off from United
He's been a huge mistake for them. He never really hit anything like the form he had with Arsenal - for whatever reason. 32 league games, 3 goals.
I guess he didnt cost too much in straight transfer fee (as a swap for Mkhitaryan) but @ over £0.5 million per week in wages over 2 and a half years, that must've set them over £50 million even with Milan chipping in some of the wages for the last 12 months. There's also suggestions that they gave him a signing-on fee of over £6 million and spent £5 million on agents fees.
The £9 million settlement is about the best they couldve hoped for on top of that.
So maybe £70 million for 3 goals.

Just wondering.... Sanchez on "mega bucks" not playing as well as some of his team mates who were only on "half of mega bucks."JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:31 pmWhat went wrong for him at Man Utd on the pitch? There might be a reason why, so we are told, Sean Dyche likes to have players on comparable money...
Also in the news, Gareth Bale £650k/week. According to his coach, he didn't want to travel with squad to Manchester today...

Utterly disgusting. Horrible club man ure
Re: Sanchez Gets a £9Million Pay Off from United
Such a tragedy, having to settle for £9m so you can play the game you love. Yes, it is said with a hint of sarcasm. It's not aimed at you NewClaret, just the ridiculous amounts of money in todays football.

You can bet that the 9m probably means he meets a lower tax bracket that's for sure.

Disgrace, couldn’t even be bothered to put a shift in on 560k a week, had a few years holiday at Man U’s expense

If he hasn't lied about his age i'd be surprised.
Re: Sanchez Gets a £9Million Pay Off from United
And people go on about Gibson ...
Bloody hell Sanchez takes £300k a week pay cut ... now he's only on £200k a week .... poor little lamb....

Re: Sanchez Gets a £9Million Pay Off from United
He had problems with balance when he came back after injury at arsenal. His head had got so big that his centre of gravity was in his neck.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:33 pmYes, wondered about that myself.

£675k a week on top of an already huge bank balance and a reasonable trophy cabinet.JohnDearyMe wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:31 pmWhat went wrong for him at Man Utd on the pitch? He looked a top player at Arsenal. Definitely one of the best individuals I've seen play in the flesh
Almost certainly motivation was the problem.
Inter fans seem happy to have signed him despite the fact he hasnt done too much. Was a brilliant player on his day but I dont think it was injury or even attitude. Just motivation the minute he signed a contract worth about £30m

Wonder if he'd have missed a couple of weeks wages and bunged it over the City to Droylsden. Would have seen them through a while longer.
