Noteworthy Sean Dyche and Burnley achievements/stats etc
Since our manager took over in 2012 he has helped our club achieve a massive list of achievements, noteworthy milestones, statistics etc. From George Boyd's running stats, blocks by defence, double league wins, the club's position finishing positions, points tally's, unbeaten runs, England call ups. There's loads of significant ones as well as obscure ones, all that make you think. I'd like to compile a list of them. I'll start us off with a relatively minor one but noteworthy nonetheless.
First league double over West Ham in 73 years.

Unfortunately Dyche's Burnley lost their unbeaten run to Sheff Utd this season but im confident we'll bounce back and regain our crown in the coming season

Dont be so melodramatic, its a light hearted post on a footy messageboard so get over yourself and ignore it. If a post like mine really bothers and upsets someone then they need to get a gripClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 10:07 amDo you seriously have to try to ruin thread after thread?

Doing the double over Wolves in his first eighth months here and losing to Villa in the league on the Turf for the first time since 1936 and in any game since 1959

Re: Noteworthy Sean Dyche and Burnley achievements/stats etc
Just checked and Ive made 5 posts of this nature in the last week (all harmless and fun). To put this into perspective there are now 4 posts in the last hour because a couple of you cant just ignore me if you dont like my opinion
Have a look at the Eddie is gone thread and you'll see more posts making jokes at his expense than the amount of jokey posts I have made with Burnley as the butt of the joke in the last couple of months
As I said get a grip and if you are unable to poke fun at your own (Burnley FC) in the same way as you poke fun at others then I feel sorry for you.
Now if you dont want me on this thread just ignore me cos Ive made my contribution and have no intention of making another unless Im quoted or discussed by others

There are lots of memorable landmarks mentioned above.
Think up there amongst his & the clubs recent great achievements has to be the complete overhaul of our Youth set up.
To have overseen the building of the new facility and us getting top grade status.
Hopefully this will prove a long lasting & productive legacy.

Longest unbeaten run for decades 23 games.
Longest unbeaten home run for decades.
Most clean sheets in the top flight certainly in the PL era.
The only team to deny Liverpool a league win at Anfield this season.
Ensuring the club turns a profit on transfers year by year.
European football for the first time in 51 years.
Record PL points tally now matched.
Most wins in a PL season.
2 Championship seasons where we only lost 5 games in each campaign.
Longest unbeaten sequence in the PL 8 games.
Longest unbeaten home run for decades.

Re: Noteworthy Sean Dyche and Burnley achievements/stats etc
If the reports coming out of the Turf/training ground are correct, a "togetherness of squad" and esprit de corps that we haven't had under a manager for decades, if ever.
And this leads to the tangible achievements mentioned.
I think this is probably the main thing.

He has also spent more than twice as much in transfers than the club had spent in their history up until his arrival and if some get their wish it will be 3 times as much by the end of this transfer window - the money has all been earnt by the work he, his staff and players have done it has to be said.

Re: Noteworthy Sean Dyche and Burnley achievements/stats etc
We have spent a reasonable amount, but at this level you have to spend to compete, equally we've also recouped a lot of money by selling wisely, Keane, Gray, Heaton, Vokes are just a few that have brought us huge fees, and this is one of the reasons our finances are relatively healthy.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 3:12 pmHe has also spent more than twice as much in transfers than the club had spent in their history up until his arrival and if some get their wish it will be 3 times as much by the end of this transfer window - the money has all been earnt by the work he, his staff and players have done it has to be said.
Plus we still have McNeil, Pope, Tarks, Taylor & Wood who could easily command large fees if there is interest in their services from other clubs.
I strongly suspect that our record incoming transfer fee will be broken in the near future, if not this summer, then almost certainly next summer.

I love this thread!
Re: Noteworthy Sean Dyche and Burnley achievements/stats etc
All I can add is growing up. Saying I was a Burnley fan was met with 'Why?' 'Where?' 'Who?' Travelling around now nobody, but nobody has a bad word to say about us. Comments of admiration, even from Rovers fans and many fans of clubs from the PL who remember us from the 50's, 60's and 70's. The number who say 'It's good to see you back' before waxing lyrical about the Jimmy Mac era. Even some envious comments from more established clubs fans.
I've always been proud of wearing my colours but hearing comments I have heard over recent years as actually made me well up and get quite teary.
Mr Kilby, the current board, Dyche and his team have made that possible.
All of the above are noteworthy achievements but having fans across the board applaud us, look on at us with envy at how we are run and are genuinely pleased to see us at the top table never ceases to amaze and please me.

Really don't want to be negative BC but the masks aren't going anywhere. So I guess it will be a question of leaving all your contact details for Check and Trace. Can you honestly see thousands of supporters in stadiums sitting so close to one another? Then of course as I've mentioned before there's the fear factor. A proportion of all football fans will never set foot in a football stadium ever again.Bosscat wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 12:25 pmFar too much positivity on this thread ... where are the nay sayers and doom mongers ...........
