Played well first half and a cracking goal at the end from Jeff Hendrickclaretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 11:28 amAgreed, that performance at Brighton will be long remembered.
Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
I have just voted for Wolves away. We dominated that game apart from a twenty minute spell from Wolves. If we hadn’t been robbed at the death this one would receive more votes. United away was very satisfying though with two cracking goals.

Difficult choice, between the obvious 2, but most people falling in the same direction.

No doubting which game will win, however I was most impressed by the way we played at Palace, especially bearing in mind the injuries and departures we had

The win at Old Trafford was of such magnitude, especially in our household, that I did something I've never done before and bought a souvenir scarf to commemorate, that now hangs proudly in my music room.

I do think the scrappy game down at Bournemouth played in torrential rain....gave us a big boost of confidence after the spurs game. Though it's got to be Burnley beating man utd.

Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
Definitely did. Remember watching that thinking it was the worse game id ever seen. Especially after similar poor efforts around that time. But the important thing was the win. Really knocked the stuffing out of them and gave us the confidence we desperately needed!

I've gone for Palace away, taking into account the players we were missing but the Man Utd win should easily take this honour.

The United game will win but the Liverpool one for me was better - better opposition, no points dropped at home all season.

A very mature performance at this level, got my vote too.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 5:02 pmI've gone for Palace away, taking into account the players we were missing but the Man Utd win should easily take this honour.

Sheff united for me. Back in the pub for half time. What it's all about
Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
That did cross my mind as one. Considering everything that had been going on and what we had available.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 5:02 pmI've gone for Palace away, taking into account the players we were missing but the Man Utd win should easily take this honour.

Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
I went for Liverpool away. Only team to leave with a point this season, and it was very nearly three.
It will be a quiz questions for years to come.
We beat a poor (by their usual standards) United, albeit with two excellent goals, but THAT point against THAT Liverpool side was absolutely immense for me. That performance sums up Burnley to me, far more than the Utd one.
These truly are the BEST of times.

How true that last sentence is. I wish everyone could appreciate that.bobinho wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 9:20 pmI went for Liverpool away. Only team to leave with a point this season, and it was very nearly three.

I went for United simply for personal reasons having been there so many times and seen it go wrong so often late in the game. I can’t even begin to describe how I felt when that final whistle blew.
Liverpool was terrific against such a good team but that night at Old Trafford will probably live with me forever.

Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
Just think of all the seasons when we could barely scrape an away win in the third tier.
Having a difficult choice to make between a win at Old Trafford and being the only team in the country to return with anything at all from Anfield is beyond my wildest dreams a few years ago.
Bobinho is bob on.

Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
Got to be United i never thought we'd win at OT, and after the last 2 seasons the chance seemed to have gone, plus Jay's goal will live long in the memory. We played well at Anfield, but it's worth bearing in mind Liverpool already had the title wrapped up by then, of course if JBG'S shot had been a couple of inches lower, this choice would have been much harder.
Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
I voted for Man Utd away, Liverpool is an obvious one for second place.
However as stated above, Wolves was an excellent performance which we deserved to win.

United were poor because we made them poor. They pretty much didn’t lose another game after that and are one game away from a European final.bobinho wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 9:20 pmI went for Liverpool away. Only team to leave with a point this season, and it was very nearly three.

Absolutely, from my match report: "Don’t believe all this nonsense being spouted today about how poor they are. It’s not about them; it’s about us and we’ve won at Old Trafford and moved on to 30 points."

Another good shout for the Palace game, but yes, the OT victory was special.
We should savour these times.

Spot on the only total rubbish that day was people saying it was because we had played a bad side.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 10:56 amAbsolutely, from my match report: "Don’t believe all this nonsense being spouted today about how poor they are. We played the perfect counter attack game.

Re: ARTICLE: Twelve to choose from – which was the best away performance?
It’s a tough choice, but I went for Liverpool, it was a defensive masterclass and Pope made some brilliant saves. It’s a shame that Liverpool went a bit stale towards the end of the season because it probably took the gloss off what would’ve been memorable result for years to come nationally.
