Business Covid VAT question

Post by duncandisorderly » Mon Aug 10, 2020 1:55 pm

When this virus hit our benevolent masters decreed that we didn't need to pay certain VAT bills until March next year.

I pay by direct debit, so will they just take it as and when they need to at the end of march or do I actually need to make the payment?

If you’ve submitted your return and not asked for it to be held over, they’ll take it as normal

I submitted the return back in march but then cancelled the direct debit.
I've since reinstated the direct debit, which they took in June for that quarter but they obviously haven't taken the quarter before.

I'm just not sure whether I need to pay them or they will just take it.

The information on the website isn't clear, but it reads to me that you need to make the payment before the 31 March 2021 and it won't be taken by DD.

That’s how I read it
