Wolves v Sevilla

Post by tiger76 » Tue Aug 11, 2020 8:27 pm

Wolves started well, and they should be ahead but they wasted their penalty, Traore causing mayhem again with his direct running, he's become a monster of a player these days.

Shakhtar 2-0 to the good in the other match against Basel.

If Traore wasn't fast he would be playing in League 2.

Yep you can't miss gilt-edged chances at this level. Jimenez was trying to be too cute, he'd have been better blasting it.

If ronaldo wasn’t good he would be playing in league two.

To be fair the penalty should have been retaken, the keeper moving and encroachment...that VAR man isn't very good is he?

Sevilla are masters in this tournament, so it's no surprise they're in the last 4 again, they've dominated in this competition over several seasons now, United will have a battle on their hands come Sunday. The game did seem to change on the missed penalty, prior to that Wolves had started brightly, but if you don't convert when you're on top, you won't win tight games.

There was only one team who wanted to play football and, thankfully, they won.
I thought that Wolves were champions in complaining when they played at the Turf, however, they took it to a new level tonight and seemed to forget the fact that there wa a game to win.
Fortunately, we had a referee who was not interested in players from both sides falling over and trying to win free kicks and Wolves got what they deserved in the end. If we had played like Wolves did this board would have been melting tonight.

Nuno's gutted.

They did have a solid case with the encroachment from the Sevilla defender (who was the one first to the ball after the save) but it was an appalling penalty. Oh well, the better team won in the end, they started off slow but ended up dominating 3 quarters of it.

Portuguese. Pretty much invented diving, weapons-grade complainers.

The Spanish commentator was certainly impressed with Traore's turn of pace
