Trophy Room Restaurant

Post by up_the_clarets_1989 » Wed Aug 12, 2020 1:27 pm

Has anyone been down to the Trophy Room restaurant at the Turf yet? Any recommendations on what to order? I'm going down tonight; looking forward to getting back in the Turf even if it is just for a bit of grub and a few pints!

Not booked the latest offer but it is nice in there. Me and my husband dine in there every match day as part of our 100 club season ticket package. If it is usual BFC catering team you should enjoy it.

That getting back to the Turf struck a chord with me. Having been brought up so close to the Turf this has been the longest I’ve ever gone in my life without even walking past. I was there for a meeting with Dave Baldwin on 12th March but hadn’t been near since until I had to walk past on Monday. Felt quite emotional walking past and I had to stop to take a pic.

Looks really nice with sun shining Tony. Sadly I think by the time many of us get back on the Turf the weather will be looking a lot different than in your photo.

How is the 100 club match day experience? Always wondered how it compared to what happens on the longside exec boxes.

I saw a menu on the club's website - is it not just steak & chips, fish & chips and sausage & mash?

The posh versions. Sounds very nice, reasonably priced, should be praised for the effort. I for one am looking forward to trying it.

Three courses for £15 (with season ticket discount) looks pretty good. We’re going on Friday. All credit to Chris Gibson for trying something new.

I'd have the prawn starter and the steak so rare that a good veterinarian could save it. Wouldn't bother with dessert. I am sweet enough :D

It’s very good. Unlike the boxes everyone is seated at tables in the trophy room so you can mix with others on other tables. There are probably up to 300 people in this lounge now. When it was the original 100 club we were in a smaller lounge which has now become the new director’s lounge.
Food offering is usually a choice of two or three mains pre match along with soup/roll. Half time is muffins/cakes and full time is a full hot and cold buffet and cheese and biscuits. There is plenty of food and bar service is pretty efficient. Usual complimentary programme and team sheet half an hour before kick off. Oh and a padded seat next to directors box area, but no blanket!

I can tell you how much it was when it was first launched. It was known as the 50 Club then because it was £50 per year. Its name changed as the price went up until it reached £100. There was also the 35 Club which was in the cricket field stand and used the old directors box in there. I've no idea how much it costs now.

Not much change from two grand. However, if you compare it to 1882 club which is a one or two match package it represents good value at circa £100 per game.

Just got back and honestly it was absolutely brilliant. 4 of us (3 adults and 1 child) 3 courses, all absolutely belting, plenty of soft drinks and 3 Guinness for £55. Brilliant staff too and plenty of memorabilia to be having a look at. I would definitely recommend it.

sounds nice, but worlds apart from my days watching Burnley.
Unless someone lights up a woodbine with a swan vestas, or sets fire to a scarf whilst hanging from a ceiling strut and simultaneously sings an anti Rovers song , it won't feel very natural.

Have they put new seats in the 100 club or is it still the old ones? Hopefully new ones as the ones in there the last time I went were the most uncomfortable seats I’ve sat in at a football game!!

For a start, 3 championship trophies, same as Leeds.

NB: Myself and Alex did the flooring in there!

Same seats as they have always been. Padded and more comfortable than the wooden seats. Perhaps you prefer a cold wooden seat under your derrière?

Be honest with you, I've sat in both and I much prefer the ones without padding because with those padded there just isn't enough room, the worst of them being behind the directors box. They are shocking.

Be honest with you, I've sat in both and I much prefer the ones without padding because with those padded there just isn't enough room, the worst of them being behind the directors box. They are shocking.
Didn’t realise that the seats behind directors box were padded Tony? I do agree though that legroom is poor because of wooden partition in front of them.

Do kids get the same as the above menu, but in smaller portions?
