People keep raving about Atalanta and the way they play, has anybody watched them much, is the hype justified?

1-0 Atalanta, great finish. As a side issue anyone else having sound problems on BT? Hearing commentators talk about a piece of play about 5 seconds before it happens on the TV.

Come on Atlanta, it'd be great if they went all the way, instead of all the big spenders.

I think Taylor has got himself some new cards and is desperate to show them off.

Re: Atalanta v PSG
There was a time when I thought he was improving as a referee but I’ve seen him have so many poor games this season.

Re: Atalanta v PSG
I think you can correlate his dip in performance (mighty dip imho) to the day he did our game at Swansea after his stag do. Since then he has been so poor for the most part, erratic and inconsistent performances from one week to the next. Pre that game he was a rising starClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:16 pmThere was a time when I thought he was improving as a referee but I’ve seen him have so many poor games this season.

Re: Atalanta v PSG
What gasperini has done with Atalanta is nothing short of incredible. He often seems overlooked when other jobs come up. I'd love him at Burnley (obviously not if dyche didn't leave).

Is Taylor on commission for his yellow cards, that's his 9th booking of the game.

Battered for 80 mins and win like that. Amazing
Re: Atalanta v PSG
A couple of summers ago we were linked with Zapata who I think was a Napoli player on loan at Atalanta. Last summer we were vying with Atalanta for Malinovsky's signature. I was willing for them to beat moneybags PSG but it was not to be. Gasperini has worked miracles there - same as Dyche at Burnley.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:19 pmWere we linked with a player from Atalanta last summer?

What a disappointing end. Really wanted Atalanta to win that.

Re: Atalanta v PSG
Horrible way to go out, and you do wonder whether Atalanta will get another chance, look at Ajax made the semi-finals last season, and didn't even qualify for this season.
Re: Atalanta v PSG
Pity.
Same score Merthyr beat them by in the cup winners cup all those years ago.
But dai Webley was better than neymar.
Not such a whingy little cheat at any rate.

Re: Atalanta v PSG
Haha, I was on that game. I had recently started work in Merthyr (Hoover) and living very close to Penydarren Park. It was during the time English clubs were banned from Europe and there was a lot more cross-UK interest in this game than otherwise there might've been.
I went on this game with 3 scousers (2 'Pool, 1 Toffees) who were staying at the same hotel as me, a very exciting evening it was too. We were right behind the goal at the covered end where Merthy scored the winner (of the tie).
Merthyr had a good team around that time, top end of the Conference; fallen from grace considerably since then I think.
