We are going Black and Yellow.
Just had a gander at a site that does, shall we say, ‘replica’ versions of football shirts. We must be more big time now as you can buy our kit for about £12 direct from China!!!

Although it only shows a picture of the new home shirt, there is an option to buy a yellow offering.

Apologies, Liverpool are of course the exception with Standard Chartered based in the UK. The other 19, based on the season just ended, are as follows:-

Arsenal.....Dubai,UAE.....Emirates.
Aston Villa.....Philippines.....W88.
Bournemouth.....Philippines & Gibraltar.....M88.
Brighton.....USA....American Express.
Burnley.....Malta.....LoveBet.
Chelsea.....Japan.....Yokohama Tyres.
Crystal Palace.....Malta.....ManBetX.
Everton.....Kenya & Isle of Man.....SportPesa.
Leicester.....Thailand.....King Power.
Man City.....Abu Dhabi,UAE.....Etihad Airways.
Man Utd.....USA.....Chevrolet.
Newcastle.....Isle of Man.....Fun88.
Norwich.....Philippines.....Dafabet.
Sheff Utd.....Australia.....USG.
Southampton.....China.....LD Sports.
Tottenham.....Hong Kong.....AIA.
Watford.....Curacao.....Sportsbet.io.
West Ham.....Malta.....Betway.
Wolves.....Malta.....ManBetX.
Everton are now sponsored by Cazoo a Bristish company selling cars online

Chelsea's are to be sponsored by the Mobile Phone Network 3 - part of the Hutchison group Hong Kong

Leicester City's shirts will be sponsored by the Thai Tourism Authority this season

Southampton are supposedly chasing a new sponsor as the never operative LD has supposedly pulled out of the deal

There are question marks over Sheffield United sponsor USG as to will it remain (about to start 2nd year of a 3 year deal) but parent company in Austrailia went into Admin last month - UK business says the deal remains but it appears to have been signed off in Australia not the UK

Bournemouth ended their relationship with M88 voluntarily before project restart as they wanted to end the gambling relationship - now apparently 1 of 5 Championship clubs desperately looking for a sponsor

While LoveBet are registered in Malta (like many Far East facing Betting consortia) - the ownership seems to filter back through the Isle of Man

Anyone heard anything about away / 3rd kit release dates? Only 4 weeks to start of season so imagine it’ll have to be soon?
If we were playing on 12th, we’d be <3 weeks until kick off. Shocking we haven’t at least unveiled away kit.

Good to see no price increase. We must be the cheapest in the league looking at some of the prices of new shirts that have recently been released.
They went up 12.5% last season

Chelsea had the 3 sponsor on during project restart. I think I read that Everton had deliberately moved away from betting.

They did but it was only £5 in the grand scheme of things. They must have been £40 for a good number of years before whilst other teams were increasing their prices year on year.

EDIT: it may have been the last Puma shirt that jumped up from £40 to £45 with last year’s Umbro shirt keeping the same price. I’ve realised your 12.5% may be for the whole kit which I didn’t factor in.

It was for the shirt - went from £40 to £45 in one increase although I appreciate some clubs charge considerably more.

Probably still the cheapest in the League at that price - there is no way fans can claim to be overcharged on this

We can’t wear it yet. So no panic. I’d be more worried about transfers than shirts. We can always wear last years again. Done that before now.

As long as they’re still a tenner in a BOGOF sale around March, I’m happy.

Yep, very fairly priced. Don’t ever feel like the club take the **** and that’s exactly as it should be.

I’d love to know the economics of all the various sales/offers they put on though. Suspect a lot just wait until these deals are available & personally think it would be better just to divide total revenue by shirts sold and sell them for that price without sales - fairer on all.

Until people show some solidarity and refuse to pay the extortionate price, then sadly , this will continue.

You say that but some years ago a work colleague of mine wouldn't buy replica shirts for his kids because he said they weren't value for money. I just asked him how often they would wear them and the simple answer is they are still value for money for kids because they often don't have them off their backs.

The mark up is ridiculous and for what they are they are shockingly overpriced - but is it better to pay £45 for something that's worn and worn or £20 for something similar that you wear once or twice?

NOTE: I've made a conscious decision now not to buy any further shirts while they are advertising betting companes.

To be fair, it's just economics. Plenty of people - tightwads like myself - refuse to pay the full price. But that's fine, you know you can get one for £10-£20 after Christmas. You're really paying a premium to have something first, as the season starts, rather than just for a cheaply made footy shirt.

Makes sense, it happens everywhere in retail. Computer games, phones, clothing ranges.. anything really. If you don't mind waiting a bit, you can get what you want at a price you're happy with.

This delay in getting the away kit out reminds me of our title winning season when we had to start the campaign without an away kit due to a mix up at the factory that made them.

Still we managed to improvise then, so no doubt we can do the same now.

Very fairly priced. Apart from the tv money, it’s one if our best sources of income. Yet still price them well. One of by biggest hates is people always asking for stuff cheaply. That’s only pipped by people wanting freebies from their mates business. If you support your club or your friends, pay, wanting freebies doesn’t support them whatsoever.

Are we the only Premier League team that won't allow kits to be sold in other outlets, even locally? (although I did once see our jade/black half shirt for sale in a InterSports in Colchester)

Not for one minute am I saying that they will sell many at Sports Direct in Croyden, but you would think we would like to widen the net somehow

I guess they keep the shirts at 45 by not factoring in a middle man fee. I certainly got funny looks when i semi seriously asked the puma store over here if they could order me one haha

Entirely agree.

I bought my eldest the grey short-sleeved GK jersey (in the sale, as it happens). Think it was £17.50 or something. He’s hardly had it off his back since, probably cost me about 17.5p per wear... certainly wouldn’t have begrudged it costing 35p per wear!

Got my youngest the away kit (full price) & whilst not worn casually as much, he’s worn it for every football training & match, so can’t fault it.

Yeah, wasn't keen on the new shirt at first but it does look much better when you see the whole kit together.

Still won't be buying one though, will wait and see if the training shirts are as good as last seasons :)

That kit is definitely starting to grow on me. Looks a lot better on the players.

Home kit has massively grown on me. Keeper kit looks “mint” too.

Pleased there’s a black kit but not so sure I like how it fades then contrasts with the black shorts. Hoping that is a trick of the light.
