Unless something dramatic happens at Headingley then the top 2 are heading for a draw.

Essex and Somerset are looking the most impressive out of all the teams, and whoever emerges out of the North section will have a tough ask to beat either of those.

If we can't get a draw from here we should definitely give it up, but it's a long shot for Lancs to make the final, even so the Roses game coming up is their chance for redemption, and they could do major damage to Yorkshire's hopes, which is always satisfying.

About time the openers started contributing, and hopefully these runs will give them confidence to carry on come Saturday.

It was a decent display by the openers, and time in the middle won't have done them any harm, now they need to replicate that form against the Yorkies.
