Notts v Lancs

Post by tiger76 » Sat Aug 15, 2020 11:17 am

One of the games that has got underway on schedule, Lancs won toss and inserted, this will of course be Hameed's first match against his former club.

With rain in many of the games both sides will see this as a big opportunity to put points on the board, ironically the conditions are better the further north you come.

Oh dear the Yorkies are 1 down already

Good morning for Notts 107-1 at lunch, not what Lancs would have been looking for after choosing to field.

Sounds as though Notts have escaped loads of close calls

They might have had plenty of close calls, but this is now looking ominous for Lancs 182-1, remind me why did we bowl first up.

He must have seen the monster score Yorkshire are building today :)

Yorkshire 1780-4 v Derbyshire, i think there's been a typo in the Beeb somewhere, which they've now corrected.

Finally a wicket for Lancs, 268-2 is some platform for Notts to claim full batting points though.

Saved by the bad light today against a Notts side shorn of all its England talent.

Good to see all your homegrown talent playing well Bodge...

Voldemort 31
Cymbals 22
Brook 0

The lad from Middlesex 145. Not even like when you try to claim lads from Earby should be classed as Yorkshire, but a bloody proper bona fide southerner.

Classic Yorkshire, do as I say, not as I do.

Aye the Harrogate lad is going along very nicely indeed.

Meanwhile your local boys are getting flayed to all parts.

I think Chapple needs to be careful..he reminds me of Eddie Howe, a likeable guy who says all the right things, but ultimately isn't producing the goods..

Lancs forced to follow on today, and they have around 60 overs to survive for the draw.

Unless something dramatic happens at Headingley then the top 2 are heading for a draw.

Essex and Somerset are looking the most impressive out of all the teams, and whoever emerges out of the North section will have a tough ask to beat either of those.

If we can't get a draw from here we should definitely give it up, but it's a long shot for Lancs to make the final, even so the Roses game coming up is their chance for redemption, and they could do major damage to Yorkshire's hopes, which is always satisfying. :)

About time the openers started contributing, and hopefully these runs will give them confidence to carry on come Saturday.

It was a decent display by the openers, and time in the middle won't have done them any harm, now they need to replicate that form against the Yorkies.

An extraordinary collapse by Surrey they were bundled out for just 74 to lose to Hampshire by an innings, including a hat-trick by James Fuller.

I see Yorkshire's mercenaries scraped a draw against Derbyshire.... Yorkshire's bowling was so bad even Voldemort got a few overs in.
