My neighbour
We have had huge thunderstorms here and the brook that flows around the back of a couple of new houses opposite us is very close to bursting its banks. I have been out helping put sandbags in place and got talking to one of the residents. Are you the Burnley fan? I am indeed. Turns out he played for Watford while Sean Dyche was in charge, from the youth team and into the senior side. The best Manager I played for by a mile was his view. Both from a football angle and as a bloke to work for. Still keeps in touch and was speaking to him a couple of weeks ago. That's what he is like and can't speak highly enough of him and he isn't surprised at the job he has done at Burnley.
Won't come as a surprise but good to hear from the horses mouth so to speak.

Re: My neighbour
Doesn't come as a surprise at all to me. You only need to speak to him once to get a good idea of what he's like. I bet he's brilliant to work for.

Doubt it’s John Bond as John Bond would be the best manager that John Bond had played for...in his own mind

Re: My neighbour
I wouldn't mind being a neighbour of Elton John, I think it would mean I was a lot wealthier than I am.

Re: My neighbour
I'm going to guess former Stanley winger Piero Mingoia - purely on the basis that his time at Watford coincides with SD's, he made it through the youth system into the first team and finished last season playing for Boreham Wood - which I believe is in Hertfordshire

Re: My neighbour
I know Herts Clarets says otherwise and it's his story but with those powers of deduction you deserve to be right. Mingoia it is - case closed!EarbyClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 9:00 pmI'm going to guess former Stanley winger Piero Mingoia - purely on the basis that his time at Watford coincides with SD's, he made it through the youth system into the first team and finished last season playing for Boreham Wood - which I believe is in Hertfordshire

Re: My neighbour
Has anyone got a list of all of Dale Bennett’s former and current next door neighbours so we can guess who Herts Claret is?

I like Dale Bennett.
He scored an absolute belter of an own goal against us at Vicarage Road, once.

What a great thread, no arguing, a bit of comedy, exactly what this board misses these days

I think we should close the thread, as the poster of the original message couldn’t be bothered with the hassle in the end but had no problem enlisting the time of multiple posters off topic on a Burnley fc message board

Re: My neighbour
Absolutely agree. Some witty comments which made me laugh - good stuff! Sounds like Dale Bennet is a good bloke and a good neighbour for Herts.

Re: My neighbour
Are you alluding to the fact he represents over 100 players?
Hence why our manager may have spoken to him?
