Sevilla v Utd

Post by tiger76 » Sun Aug 16, 2020 7:42 pm

So the last English team in Europe, can they overcome a tough test against the Spaniards, I have my doubts.

The big team news is David De Gea starts for United, it surely can't be as bad as his last semi-final appearance can it, I see goals in that Utd line-up, but the :?: is can they keep the back door shut, that's been their achilles heel all season, and this Sevilla team showed against Wolves that they're no mugs, and their record in this tournament is outstanding in the past few years.

That's my hunch 2-1 Sevilla. Just as it was a couple of seasons ago at OT.

Wow! a Man Utd penalty we don't see that often, sounds a bit soft from what I've read. That said he buried it in great style.

Definite penalty and a good decision from the ref. Rashford shot but was then wiped out with a tackle from the defender. Don’t often see them given.

Shocking defending for the equaliser.
Why is it apart from us, Liverpool and Sheffield United, English teams just don't know how to defend.

Like a goal you see on Fifa when the defenders are 11 year old kids, messing about.

I knew Utd wouldn't keep a clean sheet, this is a very open game for the neutral mind you. And an ex-Liverpool man with the equaliser, Utd fans will hate that.

BTW Pogba does know this is a EL semi-final, he looks like it's a pre-season kickabout, show some desire man FGS.

Maguire playing ole with the ball again 2 1

Its just a replay of City, all the possession 45 touches to put a ball in, while the oposition take 3 and score. Like City they are the better team. Like City they deserve to lose.

Some of the diving and theatrics from both teams in this game is horrendous. Brandon Williams has feigned injury on three occasions tonight. Not good.

Mickey Mouse defending from United again, that £80m they spent on Jerry Maguire is looking a bigger waste of money by the week. And £50m for AWB they've had their pants pulled down by Palace with that transfer.

Saying all that the game should have been dead and buried long before now, how many chances do United need to finally convert one.

All over Ole's semi-final jinx strikes again, what a performance from the Sevilla keeper, but United shot themselves in the foot twice.

People shouldn't be :o just look at Sevilla's recent run in this tournament, at this level they're a class act, and that allied to their work rate makes them a tough nut to crack, but United did themselves no favours with their attitude, you have to earn the right to win in games such as this, and United didn't earn that right, plus if you keep missing chances it will ultimately cost you in the end.

After watching the last two nights games with City and Utd wanting to walk it into the net no wonder the country hasn’t fathomed us out
“How come sh1t Burnley get so many points”?
Because we get it in the box early and have two guys in there that challenge for everything.
Utd lined up with 3 up front but Rashford, who has been gash since he became a politician, and Greenwood stayed so wide Martial was easy meat for Sevillas defence.
2 games, 2 pens for Utd. Nothing from play. Might have sneaked third but they are miles from Liverpool.

The worst one of all was Rashford. The dive was only average, he got a touch and rolled over screaming, but the ref played advantage. And then he lay on the floor while the United attack went on, and of course he wasn't there to try and score a goal, and he was still lying on the floor as Seville broke away and took the ball past him to try and score one of their own. And then he got up, not needing treatment.

What sort of so-called professional footballer is more interested in pretending to be hurt than he is in winning the game? I don't care if he did have a bit of a sore toe, he still has to get up and play on. And if (as is almost certainly the case) he wasn't hurt even slightly, then it's even more pathetic. I saw Nile Ranger do that for Newcastle against Accrington in a league cup game once; I thought Rashford was a better man than Ranger.

Brandon Williams did it plenty of times at the turf too. For a 19 year old he's mastered being a cheating tw@t already
