Actors. Where have we seen them before?
Actors. Where have we seen them before?
Seems never a TV programme or film goes by that I have to pause it because the wife says 'Where do I know him/her from?' Off I go onto iMDB for the answer.
Was kind of watching 'Dempsey & Makepeace' in the background earlier and spotted the guy who play Mickey Pearce in OFAH. The next show was Minder with a very young Peter Capaldi. Just been watching something with Pat Roach in on ITV4, was one of the two mentioned earlier.
Funny looking back at what actors played in when they started off or went on to.
I just find it fascinating when you find a recognisable face in an old show and wonder what else they were in.

Midsomer Murders is good for that Ben ... the Mrs is always saying "where have we seen him/her before" so out comes the old phone and imdb

We do that on a Sunday with Miss Marple on ITV3. Let's face it there's bugger all else on Sunday morning. A whole raft of famous actors in those. I agree. Seen quite a few on Midsomer Murders, but you would the rate they keep killing people off
Re: Actors. Where have we seen them before?
The weirdest one I ever saw was watching an old episode of Heartbeat and I said to the wife "I'm sure that's Noel Fitzpatrick the Supervet" When I checked the cast on Google it did turn out to be him. Never knew he was even an actor before he became a brilliant vet.

As a side note. I don't see it myself. My wife was convinced Neil Dudgeon on Midsomer Murders was Neil Warnock for the longest time. She was convinced they were one and the same. The first time she saw Warnock on MOTD she said 'Oh! I didn't know Barnaby was a football manager'
She still thinks they are doppelgangers.

A m8 I used to work with 30yrs ago, confessed to have a thing for that advert having "dreams" about the Rabbit so when it was pointed out who was the face behind the voice his dreams were shattered too

Re: Actors. Where have we seen them before?
Had this the other day while we were watching an old Peter Sellers as Inspector Cluseux film, 'A shot in the dark' (the scene with the blind beggar busking and the 'minky' breaking the 'liurr')
Wife said the beggar looked familiar but she couldn't place him, after some thought I realized it was the guy who played Frank Pickle in Vicar of Dibley (John Bluthal)
I think I need to get out more...

Benedict Cumberbatch popped up in a couple of "Heartbeat' episodes, one in 2000, one in 2004.

I still watch that show regularly, love it It's been in reruns every Friday evenings for what seems like forever.

A young Ray Winstone was also in an episode of the underrated sitcom Ever Decreasing Circles.

Not so much a where have I seen them but a surprise at first to see Sigourney Weaver appear in a couple of Doc Martin episodes. Apparently a long time friend of crazy, lovelorn pharmacist actress (Selina Cadell, sister of Simon Cadell, Jeffrey in Hi-De-Hi) in the show.
Quite a coup. Apparently she announced she watched it on a chat show and wanted to be on it. Martin Clunes was on the show that night and is married to the producer of the show.

Very much underrated. Only got into watching it properly in recent years. It's quite a gem which I am sure many have missed out on.

The actor who played Howard was in an episode of Minder, I think he played a bodyguard to an Indian restaurant owner.

Re: Actors. Where have we seen them before?
Back in the early sixties a young four year old girl asked her mum: "mummy why are your hands so soft?" in a tv advert for Fairy Liquid. That four year old girl was Leslie Ash, who went on to star in Quadrophenia, Men Behaving Badly etc. Leslie Ash is now 60 years old. Where does time really go to?

Crikey! I thought she was late 40's/early 50's. She was a looker back in the day, pre-plastic surgery.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:29 pmBack in the early sixties a young four year old girl asked her mum: "mummy why are your hands so soft?" in a tv advert for Fairy Liquid. Strange one Patsy. From Birds Eye to co-starring alongside Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2 and ends up on Holby City. Hard to believe she's not much older than me. Seems to have been around forever.
Re: Actors. Where have we seen them before?
Was watching a box-set of Orphan Black and kept looking at the scientist in it. I know that fella. He looks familiar. Turns out he was Max Headroom back in the 80's.
Re: Actors. Where have we seen them before?
Married and divorced 4 times including one to Liam Gallgher for 3 years.
Re: Actors. Where have we seen them before?
I watched an old episode of the sooty show the other week. There was some ugly old dude with his hand up the arses of a load of dim looking puppets getting them to say whatever rubbish he wanted, and the audience were lapping it up.
Then I realised it wasnt Harry Corbett at all. It was a politics show and the old boy was Dom Cummings manipulating the cabinet.
