Should women be allowed to play on teams with men?

Ive watched a few national games and some of the Women footballers are pretty good. Many women are strong enough. I know plenty of Women who are stronger than many men. It wouldn't bother me if our new Centre Midfielder was a women.

You would have to build a separate changing room and a separate shower area just for starter's

Would women want to? I expect the tier England internationals would find their level at in the men's game would earn them considerably less than playing on the WSL

The best women players would struggle to beat any EFL team. I accept some women are stronger than some men, but the rigours of a 90 minute football match against men would be well beyond them

Absolutely but I don’t believe there will ever be one to make it at the highest level.

I presume it would then come with a call for men to participate in the women’s game and I suspect that would potentially end women’s football.

No. They'll never be physically strong enough. My wife used to play at a high level on the continent for a women's team. She trained with the men's team. She says that women just don't have the physical attributes or stamina.
She got the sh*t kicked out of her by the men and although it toughened her up. That was just training. They were going easy on her.
Let's not forget, by the way. The Women's World Champions, USA; got hammered by a Dallas Academy 15 year old boys team in 2017.
They're light years off being in a men's team.

No ....

The only sports which do this are equestrian events, ie: Show Jumping, Dressage, Horse Racing etc. However, why Snooker, Pool, Darts, Bowls, Curling and Motor Sports aren't " Open " is beyond me ...

Absolutely correct, the best women's team would get battered against even the part time mens teams, it would be dangerous to even try

Once you allow it you’ll start getting the argument of women not being selected and sexism, imagine the outrage if a 6ft 5 - 17 stone centre half snapped a 5ft 5 women’s legs in a tackle or knocked her unconscious.

In a word NO!

I'd wager the Women's world Champions would not be in the top half of The National league. Please don't suggest this to the FA, they are sappy and PC enough to consider it, at that point I'm done.

Nothing wrong with women competing with or against men in say Golf or Darts and others as posted earlier but not football. What next mixed Rugby, Men v women Wretling of Boxing?

It's called women's football for a reason, loosely based on our game just not the same.

It’s another of those that no women will be calling for, just the press and the type that love to protest.

This would happen 100%. It's an insurance companies dream! My wife said her male counterparts took no prisoners. She came out battered and bruised and lucky not to have bones broken. It's a case of. 'Ok, you want to play men, let's play like men'. I'd give it the opening game of the first ever woman to play before she had something snapped for good. It just ain't going to happen.

If there was a female player good enough, I can’t see any reason why she can’t be considered. The game is becoming less and less physical anyway, but to compete by today’s standards she’s have to be pretty special. I’ve not watched much women’s football but I haven’t seen anyone with the attributes necessary to play in a mens team, certainly at the highest level anyway.

Men aren't ready for female managers and some still have issues with female officials in the men's game.

We are a long way off before they're ready to accept mixed football teams regardless of how good the women are.

Not looking it up now, off to work. There was a Dutch case the other week on the BBC where a woman wanted to keep playing with men. She was allowed to but only at a very low level of football.

Nothing to do with how different physically men are. Which in itself is reason enough for them not to play.

The reality is they will never be talented, quick or strong enough. End of.

That’s not sexist. It’s reality.

They now have mixed 400 metre relays in the athletics but even the fastest women are left trailing due to the speed of the men.

5 women have entered formula 1 events though only 2 have started a race. Many rally drivers, Pat Moss probably the most famous, though Anne Hall once took a friend of mine round a track when in her late 70s scared the crap out of him.

I’ve played where there were women on the other team (in the US you can’t discriminate against it) and they were well worth their place. Not as physical but certainly more technical which made our Sunday Pubbers look a bit stupid.

So all of those “best women’s team in the world wouldn’t beat the Morris Dancers” comments I can assure you are steeped in misogyny

A prem league women’s team could not even get near to a conference team they’d be eaten alive . Sure there’s some good women’s players but as a “direct comparison only” to compare their game is almost laughable . I’d say any decent men’s u16 academy side would beat the best England USA national sides .

That said I’m all for birds playing the game at school upwards and if it brings more women in to the game as refs/physios /coaches etc it’s a good thing imo
