A bit quicker to get to than Curzon for me and there's a nice little real ale pub (The Market Ale House) about 100 yards from the ground.

The home of the legendary Brian Pilkington and the start of his career.
Sounds good to me.

Curzon was easier for me to get to so will be slightly more problematic if and when we can go

At least there's a suggestion of being able to attend so that sounds a little more optimistic.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 3:31 pmCurzon was easier for me to get to so will be slightly more problematic if and when we can go

Steve Stone has returned to the fold I see.
Did we know this, or is it just me ?

The club sneaked it in a while ago on the website just by restoring his title on the profiles page, but they seem to be pushing and pushing it at every opportunity now.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 4:09 pmSteve Stone has returned to the fold I see.

Always plenty of real ales in Wetherspoons!
Re: ARTICLE: New home for the under-23s
Yeap, stood in there when we played Rovers in a final ( Lancs Cup?) a couple of years ago. That was our end!

Re: ARTICLE: New home for the under-23s
Then again, what makes a stand a stand?
There are no steps in it... I suppose a stand could be terraced, it doesn't need seats
I've seen stands without roofs before so a shelter doesn't make it a stand...

I take it you were involved in the negotiations
Re: ARTICLE: New home for the under-23s
Maybe a fitting tribute' to Brian Pilkington if we're using their ground to improve their 'stand' if only for his memory and career? Just a thought.

Can someone remind me why we can't have reserve games on the Turf?

Re: ARTICLE: New home for the under-23s
That did cross my mind but I thought with today's superior pitches the Turf could stand roughly one game each week.

Re: ARTICLE: New home for the under-23s
Really contentious issue but when they have played them on the Turf there have been so few attended that it is probably not considered justified. I think we have to play three out of 13 home games there next season in PL2.Stan Tastic wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 5:35 pmCan someone remind me why we can't have reserve games on the Turf?
