Straight home. No charges.
Re: Maguire in the mire ?
If someone is sticking pointy objects into his sister, then well done Maguire for giving them a kicking. They asked for it, they got it. Fighting and bribing the police (allegedly) was stupid, though.

Drunken players are nobheads but he'll get off with a hefty fine which will be peanuts to him and all will be forgotten.

It is indeed a v nice place to holiday, guaranteed weather ,great food and history etc ,though for daily corruption from taxi drivers through to just mass non payment on the underground etc etc .Though Athens puts the islands to shame on that count it rivals even some of Africa’s finest .Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 4:59 pmBizarre comment about Greece which is a magnificent place for a holiday. Mykonos is typical footballer/footballers' wives territory admittedly.
Maguire has probs got what he deserves tbh , doubt he’ll need to go back and I’m sure everything has been appropriately greased .

If somebody touches my sister, I’d have done exactly the same, if I was minted I’d probably try and pay my way out as well

Re: Maguire in the mire ?
Southgate deciding if to include Maguire in the squad, no mention of Tarks being his "replacement" which could either mean he is already in, or not even in considerationIf Maguire is left out, Southgate is unlikely to turn to John Stones or Fikayo Tomori, who both played infrequently for clubs Manchester City and Chelsea respectively in recent months. Liverpool's Joe Gomez could be a more likely fit.

You are the Judge!
It’s in Greece so not covered by Sub Judice.
Who will the Judge believe:
the Greek police who were attacked by McGuire and his gang, who then gave it the “do you know who I am” and tried to pay them off.
Or McGuire, whose sister was injected with a date rape drug by two “Albanians” and the taxi took them to the police station rather than the hospital, where they were attacked y the police, one policeman kicking him in the leg saying he was going to end his career?
Glad I don’t have to decide!

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle with both sides embellishing their stories to make them look like the good guys.

Re: Maguire in the mire ?
Different country, different laws, different attitudes - but when you consider that Joey got 6 months for the brawl he had in Liverpool (outside Maccies, wasn’t it?), you’d have to be a worried man if you’re Harry Maguire with those charges laid out on you. ‘Repeated’ bribery?
This is gonna roll on and on - I wish we had United on the 12th even more now!

Sounds like a kangaroo court.
He'll get a sentence just less than 2 years and be allowed to pay his way out of it. Or put another way, the Greek government will accept the bribe offered.

A positive for Man Utd from this. After experiencing a year or two in a Greek jail's showers. He'll certainly be quicker at reacting to big, burly blokes anywhere near his box.

Re: Maguire in the mire ?
United have just said Maguire will appeal, and the rumours seem to be that he'll be given a suspended sentence anyway.
I have to say that court case was conducted with remarkable haste, and there may well be mitigating circumstances to explain Maguire's actions.
We know to our cost that Greek officials are not immune to brown envelopes buying favours shall we say.
Whatever the eventual outcome it's embarrassing for Maguire, United and England, especially with Gareth naming him in the squad, and offering his backing publicly.
It'll be interesting whether Ole strips him of the Man U captaincy or not.

So with a 21 month suspended sentence, does that mean he won't get picked for England again until he completes that sentence? If not, then he basically gets away with it and carries on being a prick.

Very swift justice system they have in Greece, not like over here where it takes forever.
However, I'm confused, I thought all these unjust and bizarre laws were set by the EU?

Judging by what Sarfgate has now said, Maguire will be back in the team at the first opportunity. Disgusting.
