Inter v Sevilla
It is the Europa League Final this evening at 20:00, think Inter will win it with Lukaku smashing a couple in.
As a sidenote, I have really enjoyed these Champions League and Europa League games being played in a sort of World Cup style event and one off fixtures. The top sides always complain about fixture congestion, instead of ruining the domestic game, why not going forward Champions League and Europe League knockout stages are played over the 1 leg.

Re: Inter v Sevilla
Forza Inter!
As for knockout style. I prefer seeing teams travel to random stadiums throughout Europe. And then the home and away legs in the knockouts make for some cracking ties.
With tournament style you also run the risk of the big name players missing out due to injury or suspension. As often happens in the world cup. At least over the course of a calendar season they will play most if not all of the games.
A semi final at home is a brilliant occasion.

No wonder Nigel Owens catchphrase is “This is not football”. Inter players are a disgrace. Send one off and stop it immediately.

Re: Inter v Sevilla
Another enjoyable game so far and a really good equaliser.
As much as I shouldn’t, I want Inter to win. I sort of half adopted them as my Italian team back in the 1960s. Surprising sometimes that these things stay with you.

Wood and McNeil would have a field day against these two defences.

3-2 and Conte on the touchline. I’m sure I’ve seen that before in August.

Re: Inter v Sevilla
Why don't they just give Sevilla this trophy to keep, it's almost their personal property in the last few years, that's six times they've lifted it since 2006.
Inter still without a trophy since 2011, for a club of their stature that's not good enough.
Cracking final though, and plenty of drama to entertain the neutrals, if the CL lives up to that it'll be a great watch as well.

Sevilla deserve it. They know how to win that cup. And they had a hard run to the final.
But... Modern football all over. Sevilla win the Europa league final... and players are on their phones.

With two or three key players though I think they will win serie a.

Re: Inter v Sevilla
Another game littered with players feigning injury and trying to con the officials. Guy doesn't get touched and he is flat out holding his face, didn't just happen once --it happened four times with players from both sides guilty. Plenty of other instances where no contact was made but players were going down.
Why do they do it? Get on with the game and stop play acting!

Have to agree. Can’t stand it. I’d be ashamed and embarrassed but they don’t care.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 10:10 pmAnother game littered with players feigning injury and trying to con the officials. The games ridiculously soft these days
Re: Inter v Sevilla
Good game. The players looked leggy second-half which is not surprising.
Inter looked shell-shocked after the last goal and the last 15 minutes were too broken up to see them build.
De Jong showed how to bag goals from corners/crosses.
The referee should have added at least two more minutes given Sevilla's antics.

I could imagine Dyche gritting his teeth watching Sevilla at the end of that game. Terrible, and they were so good they really didn't need to reduce to that. How the ref bought it I don't know..

All part of FIFA's grand plan so that all physical contact, no matter how light, will be deemed as a foul one way or another and the player who can roll around and shout the most will generally win.superdimitri wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 5:56 amI could imagine Dyche gritting his teeth watching Sevilla at the end of that game. The play-acting won't be quite so rife when they're playing in an away ground full of hostile fans.
If we ever get back there.
