Re: BMW GT UTC Reg
They say drivers of BMWs like to make a statement that 'It's not about looks, it's about personality'...

Re: BMW GT UTC Reg
Best cars on the road BMW’s. Not a fan of the GT models though, they are big and ugly at the back and some are fitted with a retractable spoiler which makes them look even worse.

Re: BMW GT UTC Reg
You may think that. I thought that until it blew up ( go to YouTube and put in ‘car fire in Westbourne’ ). BMW supplied me with a new car for four months while they conducted an investigation. They finally got back to me two days ago with the result. Surprise surprise. They couldn’t determine the exact cause and, after initially talking about compensation packages, have left me high and dry with two weeks to buy another car. Beware! They catch fire and blow up. We were lucky not to have been killed.

Re: BMW GT UTC Reg
The drive chain on my BMW broke and smashed up the engine the day before it was due for service. The warning light stated that it was possible to drive the car !!
Re: BMW GT UTC Reg
Cars are subjective things and we all have favourite makes or ones we trust. My husband likes the M cars and currently drives a nice M4 Competition. It’s a bit too firm a ride for me but it is a looker. It’s funny when people generalise about BMW drivers and their styles of driving and lack of indicators etc. Personally I find Audi drivers the most aggressive and reckless but this is just my observation.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:13 amAn aquired taste for sure.
The 335 in M Sport pack in Blue do look nice though.

I wouldn’t trust myself in an m4 on our roads. Too many cameras. Too many potholes. And too much rain. Oh and too much power for a rear wheel drive.Jenny55 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 6:22 pmCars are subjective things and we all have favourite makes or ones we trust. Mmm you are sounding a bit like an expert here. Wet weather can be an issue though. My husband says if he is not careful he can be going up the road sideways in the wet!cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 11:02 pmI wouldn’t trust myself in an m4 on our roads. Re: BMW GT UTC Reg
I forgot BMW make cars as well!
I've had some BMW motorcycles....a GS1150 and a couple of GSA1200's. But I do like the GS 800. I shipped my GSA800 out to America for a couple of months of tarmac/trail riding.....absolutely perfect for the job. I've done a lot of road touring in Europe and North Africa on a GS1200. Great bikes....if a little bit mocked by other non-BMW riding motorcyclists!
I'm not a big fan of cars generally, BMW's and Audi's look aggressive and seem to all have long bonnets at the expense of cabin space.
French cars seem more practical and family oriented.
We had an Audi 2 litre estate-diesel-thing once....dreadful! Slow acceleration, but would do 130 mph! Waste of time, built for German Autobahns.
Seeing a BMW car close behind you in your rear view mirror.....with its squat stance and aggressive "face" sort of wind's you up.....even if the driver is the sweetest chap in the world.

Re: BMW GT UTC Reg
It is strange that. My husband swears by BMW cars but won’t touch BMW motorbikes. He is a Honda man, currently riding a VFR1200X. He says BMW GS’s are like bird droppings..... everywhere.enduroclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 6:58 amI forgot BMW make cars as well!
