Fantastic goals weren't they? That's what we always remember but the Fletcher, Dobson and Casper goals get shown quite often now on TV when they are featuring us.

Re: ARTICLE: Villa have no answer as Burnley turn on the style
It. was an outstanding performance. The first hint that we might be in the running come the end of the season.
Some interesting names in the Villa line-up. Our own Andy Lochhead, of course, making a return to Turf Moor, Geoff Vowden, a player I always associate with Nottm. Forest
Edit: and that must be the same Willie Anderson that wreaked havoc with George Best at OT in 1963. Finally and sadly Brian Tiler at full back who years later died in a motor car accident on holiday watching the World Cup. A passenger in the car with him was Harry Redknapp.

Didn't we win at Villa Park 3-0 that season? I went to that game, but not sure if it wasn't either the season before or after.
Keith Newton scored a free kick, Taffy ran them ragged
Some great goals in that home game, by the way.

It was very much the same Willie Anderson who had wreaked havoc with Best that day at United. They were the two young players Busby brought in after we'd destroyed them on the Turf. Tiler and Redknapp were both travelling in a mini-bus that was in a crash in Italy. At the time they didn't hold out much hope for Redknapp either but thankfully he did finally make a full recovery.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 11:35 amIt. was an outstanding performance. Great thread, this.
What a line up we had back then.
With the couple of later signings, they really could have been the team of the 70s.
On form & clicking, they could have taken on and beaten any of the top sides in the country.
Not long after that, they did.

I’ve watched this game on youtube, a few versions, but the link above is the best I’ve seen.

This was the first game when I distinctly heard ' No Nay Never' coming from the back of the Longside.
