It’d be pretty difficult for Soccer Saturday to get rid of someone and they not be white and male!CaptainKirk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 11:14 pmSome strange comments on here.
They are not going because their analysis is good, bad or indifferent. They are not going because the younger generation doesn't know who they are. They are not going because the programme needs a shake up.
They are going because they are white and male so let's not pretend otherwise.

Re: Sky Sports sacks...
Why not respond to my point? Do you think Sky care more about the popularity of their shows or sacking white blokes?
Re: Sky Sports sacks...
Can only think they haven't got rid of Merson because he ticks the mental health box.
At least I can cancel my subscription to sky sports if the replacements are shite at their new job

Re: Sky Sports sacks...
Clinton Morrison for me is a definite. He actually looks like her wants to be there and is complimetary of most clubs. Always looks at positives where as the three gone often seem to highlight problems and look like they are going tbrough the motions all the time. Micah Richards also a good shout as is Neil Mellor
Re: Sky Sports sacks...
I like Micah Richards. I struggle a bit with Clinton Morrison for the same reasons I find Jamie Caragher hard to listen to

We've had reasons the change-
"going through the motions, no surprise he's been 'freshened up"
"social media comments"
"going through the motions"
"blokes who've gone have been there years now, probably not on cheap wages either."
"More diversity"
" out of the game for so long and younger fans cant relate to them. "
"The show is pretty stale."
"Usually a shake up is for the good"
"Times change. Can’t have the same people in the same jobs forever."
"should be a little more diverse"
" A bunch of middle aged blokes isn’t really representative of the current game or its audience."
"sacking white blokes?"

Charlie Nicholas hasn’t been involved in football since 1996. Get with the times, Grandad.

So do the BBC. They will definitely lose subscribers too, like skyclaptrappers_union wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 11:59 pmCharlie Nicholas hasn’t been involved in football since 1996. Get with the times, Grandad.

Could it be that Gary Lineker is very popular? In the same way that Jeff Stelling is very popular.RingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 11:57 pmWe've had reasons the change-

MOTD has had a stream of new faces over the last few years, but then you’d expect the Cultural Marxists at the BBC to be all over it anyway.

If he goes he goes. Who presents sports programmes is so far off the radar of things I care about it wouldn’t register with me anyway. Love the way he winds up the Wrongos of this world on Twitter thoughRingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 12:19 amCommunal raw nerve well and truly touched.

Is it really "so far off the radar of the things you care about" though? Is it? Its enough off your radar that when the" wrongos of this world " post about him, it sounds like it winds you up enough post on a football message board. D'yu know what I mean?

Re: Sky Sports sacks...
Yep. I watch MOTD for the football not the presenters. To be honest I preferred it when you just got a link from Jimmy Hill. But Lineker has my full support when it comes to triggering the people who do seem to care he presents MOTD (and are even more upset he gets paid for it).RingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 12:29 amIs it really "so far off the radar of the things you care about" though? I think you’re confusing ‘winds up’ with entertaining. He’s great value on Twitter is Gary, he’s obviously got under your skin, you’re a little obsessed with him.RingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 12:29 amIs it really "so far off the radar of the things you care about" though? You really need to look up what that means Wrongo. Then you can use it in the appropriate situation rather than it just being a stock response. By the way, I wish you wouldn’t come on here providing these levels of entertainment at this hour, I need to be in bed!

Re: Sky Sports sacks...
I’m guessing your problem with Gary Lineker is his politics. I don’t follow him on any social media so I’m not in the least bit interested in that. He’s a good tv presenter and carries the show well. However I feel that his demeanour towards Burnley at times is drab. As a result I’m fairly nonplussed about him.
Maybe it would be beneficial for you to stop obsessing over wokie lefty liberals and making everything into a ‘them vs us’ issue. It’s unbelievably childish.

It's similar to when Dion Dublin was seen as, dare I say it, the "token" male on the last BBC Women's World Cup panelGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:16 pmBoth of those women have played at the very top of their game though, it's because they're women, that's your issue.
There were complaints about his inclusion because "he knew nothing about the women's game"

I think Ian ward has been a trade up on Gower as the main anchor, prompting more in depth and relevant discussion. Both am hasn’t been missed either, the greater spotlight in Nasser and Mike Atherton has taken the coverage up a level as well. I think theSky cricket coverage now sets the benchmark for sporting coverage and punditry.

Re: Sky Sports sacks...
Sky Sports obviously keen to demonstrate "diversity" so would not be at all surprised to see Sue Smith and Clinton Morrison as Soccer Saturday regulars.
When discussing the Sky cricket commentary team posters seem to have overlooked Ebony Rainford-Brent who is also a new addition to the mix adding yet more "diversity".

No more overlooked than Rob Key, Nick Knight, etc. Thought her piece on Black Lives Mather was very good, but i can take or leave her cricket insight. There’s rarely something said that is too interesting, the same as Nick Knight and plenty others.

Scott Minto potted now.

Regards the sky overhaul, I applaud sky for taking the lead in riding these middle aged white males of our screen.
What do they know anyway, time for change and to reflect a true demographic of football and the country.
And no I haven't read the whole thread, it's just my opinion.

Football is football, it shouldn't matter whether its a man commenting on a woman's match or vice versa.
If someone can't respect what a woman has done as a player then the issue isn't with the woman.

Sack the lot, close the programme down and replace it with something really interesting like cookery or knitting.

Sterling says he is now considering his position wether to stay or leave.
This stinks and looks political and not in the interest of the show. I hope Sterling resigns enough is enough.
The country has been set back years with this BLM movement and is creating division within our communities. The majority in this country are now being discriminated by the lefty snowflakes, who support BLM and anything that is anti British.
If this discrimination does not stop and stop now I can see racial tensions similar to what we see in the USA, but with white faces not black
