Amazon Echo 5

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Thu Aug 27, 2020 2:25 pm

Anyone got one of these?

Am I right in thinking they are like an Alexa with a screen? Is there any point having one if you have an alexa and a tablet?

In short can claim one of them (or an Alexa or a basic tablet) as a 'free' gift.

I got one free with some Blink cameras - it is just Alexa with a screen, but for me it can show live feeds of my blink cameras fairly quickly. Also can be used for video call to others with one.

We’ve got it in the kitchen as it can show recipes from BBC good food with pictures etc as you make stuff

We also got one as a free gift. It is in the kitchen and is useful to see as well as hear lots of things like weather, recipes, music videos. It can be used for video calls but we tend to use FaceTime for these on iPad. Sound quality is decent and it is an improvement on our old Alexa. I would claim one if free. It actually looks good in our kitchen.
