At least we don't need to get frustrated by this at the moment. Play them on a Thursday morning for all the difference it'll make to us.

That would make to much sense, so would never happen

Absolutely no reason to believe this at all right now. The campaigning continues but as it stands the Premier League are standing firm on this.

Come on Tony, next you'll be telling us there isn't a billionaire taking us over to compete with City and Liverpool, Trippier isn't returning this summer and that the FA really are stopping Southgate picking our players so we have to sell and get relegated!

What I will tell you is that this particular subject has taken up a considerable amount of my time this week, working with supporter reps from a number of other Premier League clubs. It’s a fight that has not been won as yet and time is of the essence. I can promise you if anything changes I’ll be passing on the news as quickly as I can.

There was some real hope yesterday but as yet nothing has materialised.

As I’ve just posted, nothing happened yet and as it stands our first two games will NOT be televised so I think it is irresponsible to even suggest that things will change.

Why is it irresponsible? What I have heard from a very credible source is there has been backtracking this week and it will be announced soon.

Because nothing has happened and you said it was happening. As I’ve said, I’ve spent hours on this during the past week or so along with a lot of other people. We are still fighting to get things changed. It is the clubs who have made this decision and a lot of lobbying has taken place, a lot of work has been done with the media to try and exert pressure. Some really good and strong people from various club supporter organisations have been involved. There have been hints that things might change but, right now, nothing has and it is totally wrong and irresponsible to tell people it is changing. Hopefully it will but right now there is no indication that it will.

You would need to have spoken to a lot of clubs to draw that conclusion. And in any case, you didn’t refer to indications, you said they would all be shown.

I was a lot more hopeful this time yesterday because there were strong indications that there had been a change, led by an exclusive interview in The Times. I’ve spoken to a good number of people in the last couple of hours since the TV games were announced. Some of those people are very close to decision makers. None of them have suggested they have heard anything positive so, for now, the fight goes on.

If you were a higher up in the Premier League hierarchy, you must dumb, stupid, or dumb to make an announcement that all Premier League fixtures are on tv, after already making an announcement about the September tv fixtures. Why would you even bother making the first announcement if you know that discussions about the tv fixtures are ongoing.

Even from the Premier League's perspective, it would be utterly suicidal to make all games televised without also negotiating tv broadcast deals with Sky Sports, BT etc. It would be absolutely brilliant for all fans, but there would have to be a money gap anywhere along the chain, whether it be the broadcasters, the clubs, or even the Premier League as a whole.

CT for all the good work the Supporters groups do it will be the government that brings pressure to bear, behind the scenes, IMO.

I thought the Villa game had already been moved to the Wednesday for coverage by Amazon.

And it’s the supporters groups who have got the politicians involved

It was still scheduled for the Tuesday but the Premier League have said to that it’s now to be played at a date to be confirmed.

Between pressure from the government (which has already started with the announcement that the restriction on showing Saturday 3PM games will be lifted) and the fact that anyone under about 50 will be streaming the American coverage regardless, it's very clear all games will end up televised.

Definitely a black mark on the Premier League's record that they are resisting, though.

Not sure what you’re going on about, and obviously I’m not going to reveal my source.

There’s enough out there though in the public domain to suggest it will happen, even before taking into account the info I’ve had.

Have a look through Martin Ziegler’s tweets.

Interesting comments all round
Is the Premier league not made up of its member clubs ,so who are these folk blocking it .Is it Dirty Leeds afraid of too much coverage or media darlings Brighton ,now well in for allowing fans to watch a friendly?
