Re: Leeds United.....
It makes perfect sense to show this game, the current PL champs, hosting the winners of the Championship, I just hope Leeds suffer the same fate as Norwich on their opening day visit to Anfield last year, it might serve as a reality check for some of their supporters,

Re: Leeds United.....
I hope Liverpool are on top form and totally take Leeds apart. It could definitely happen.
Re: Leeds United.....
Naturally as a human I want Leeds to be relegated. I think the lack of fans will hopefully have a negative impact on the start of their season and without Elland rd bouncing and the 12th player locked out it might not be an easy start .

Hate them all you want. There is no question they are a massive football club.
You would think we was some sort of rivals with them with the amount they get talked about on here. We are irrelevant to them as they are to us

Can't say I have any strong feelings regards Leeds either way. My neighbour from years gone by was a Leeds fanatic and a lovely fella. Apart from the fact they're from enemy territory over the border. I have no particular interest in them generally.
I'd be quite happy with a draw in this game. If only so neither team gains too much confidence. Albeit Leeds would consider a point at Anfield a very good one.

There seems to be more posters on here who dislike Liverpool and would rather Leeds win at Anfield.

Is this game classed as the "EL CANALO"
Can you imagine if Leeds win this, they will go on about it for 50 years and bring out a new terrace chant and sky will make a documentary for sky one.

Re: Leeds United.....
I guess most of this vitriol stems from the Frank Casper incident, but it wasn't just the career ending tackle that was bad enough, it was the lack of remorse by the whole club, there's a reason why the dirty Leeds moniker has stuck with them throughout the preceding decades.TommyJohnson wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 7:56 amHate them all you want. I went to Skipton market this morning and saw a staff seling (unofficial, obviously) football club face masks. Thinking I might but a Burnley one, I looked through what was on offer. There were about 20 Leeds ones and none for Burnley. Of course, the Burnley fans might have already bought all that were available but I doubt it as it was early in the day. We see more Burnley that Leeds colours here (Burnley is our local club) but I imagine more Leeds fans who have been in hiding for years might start to show themselves.

Over fifty miles ground to ground, per google.
Both Manchester clubs are nearer and Goodison / Anfield similar to distance to Leeds.

Re: Leeds United.....
Leeds may not mean anything to many Burnley fans, but Burnley v Leeds is the main rivalry in the Skipton area.
Re: Leeds United.....
The media don’t seem to realise that most fans that don’t support Leeds actually dislike them. I live amongst many Leeds fans. If the performances on the pitch match the fans confidence then they should have secured a Champions League place by Christmas. Heard one this morning at Junior Football bemoaning having to play ‘the likes of Brighton and Burnley’.

Re: Leeds United.....
I dislike leeds for many reasons. Main one being the football I watched growing up. Some of the best and most talented players in the league, managed into cheating and thuggery by Don Revie. They could’ve won everything by skill and talent and were good enough to dominate Europe. They cheated and assaulted and because of that they will always be remembered as dirty leeds. Their fans embraced that type of football, and despite bielsa bringing good football back, they still embrace that type of football and act like dickheads when they get either a big game or a small game (or at least they embrace the legacy of it) and that’s why most right minded folk still hate dirty leeds. Classless. Utterly classless.
Big club? Big clubs get 25,000+ When they are doing crap in the bottom half of the championship. Big clubs have ALL their stands open so that all their fans can attend home matches. Big clubs don’t have to pretend they are European champions. Big clubs ooze class (yes, even Liverpool).
Leeds are back in the big time, so they will get loads of home support as well now as well as selling out for away games. But only filling your ground when playing top sides or being on the top division isn’t how big clubs are. Bigger than us? Undoubtedly.... but let’s not re-write history here... some people are using the word ‘massive’. That’s embarrassing.

Re: Leeds United.....
Think the Liverpool v Leeds game was always a dead cert for televising.
Had it not been postponed I think our game v Man U may well have been selected as well considering what happened last time we played them and that there are usually goals in the fixture.

Re: Leeds United.....
I've noticed that as well predominantly area wise pockets have always existed but more will now obviously come out especially since Leeds fortunes have improved, that particular area mentioned as always been split to be fair. It's far from unusual to see both colours on display more closer to the border.Im_not_Robbie_Blake wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 12:21 pmI went to Skipton market this morning and saw a staff seling (unofficial, obviously) football club face masks. Feels like a Stockport/ Burnley thread, where one set of supporters is obsessed by the other and yet the other side don’t really care. Weird.

As the dirty arsed crow flies we are Leeds' closest Prem rivals @ 43.36km.
After us it's Sheff U @ 45.85km.
Then Man C @ 52.94km.
Then Man U @ 59.09km.
