There's loads of horses around Stoops just in the middle of fields tied to trees by ropes with big builders buckets filled with water.

If you don't have a place to keep a horse then don't get one ? Does anybody know if this is illegal ? Doesn't seem it as this has been happening around that area for a good few years now.

Is a field not a suitable place to keep a horse?

I suppose but it's just a public field with football nets.

It’s often the travelling community who tether horses in the middle of a public field for a week or two before moving them, I’ve found.

Nah these ain't horses owned by travellers. They have been there for a few years. What's to stop somebody stealing it. Is there no law that says you can't just tie a horse up in a public place and leave it there.

Bikes are a better option, they don't need feeding and don't cr@p everywhere.

Good old Appleby fair. Otherwise known as securely lock up every land rover along the length of the M6

Forty three of 'em all gathered within 50 yards of the place, quite an impressive sight.
Was told some had come from from as far away as the North East and the Midlands.
At least one of the horses had some bevvy,- I watched one with it's head tilted back whilst a guy poured a bottle down it's neck!!

Went up to Worsthorne, apparently it was to honour a one of their friends who recently died.

Travellers are often racing traps down the A4 near Reading
Often at rush hour with no lights on causing chaos
The police are as scarce as rocking horses dropping at these times

I know one of the blokes who's involved in that stuff, he collects our scrap metal from work.
