1974/75 Season Ticket

Post by TommyJohnson » Tue Sep 01, 2020 10:38 am

Somebody on Facebook has found an old season ticket from the 1974/75 Season during a house clearance and is trying to get it back to the owner or family. Wonder if anybody on here knows of the person ? Bloody 46 years old !

I wish I'd never thrown mine away. Those old books were brilliant.

How long have we been using the cards now CT ?

Surely can't be many teams left that don't use a card system ? Maybe some in League 1 & 2 at a push ?

Card was introduced in 2014, although I actually have a season ticket book for that first season which was never used.

But the old season ticket books, as shown above, were a lot smaller than the ones we had in more recent years.

Loved those old season ticket books, used to have all mine back to the late 80s then threw them away when I moved house six years ago (unless they’re in a bag somewhere I haven’t looked in  ). The person on the photo needs to stop biting their nails!

I’m not sure, but I always associate the small books with going on the Longside so if I had to guess I’d say about the time the new stands went up round about 95-96.

What ever it is, it needs a good clean, some TPC, and some TLC.

Did the long side enclosure season books have a perforated tear off part to gain access to the enclosure?
I know I should know but my memory is not brilliant these days.

It’s your job then as to when we switched from the small books to the larger ones.
