Fantasy Premier League gets a good start

Post by ClaretTony » Tue Sep 01, 2020 11:48 am

Great start to UTC Fantasy Premier League with 48 entries received already which means we've got a £240 prize fund which is ahead of more recent seasons with 11 days to go.

All details at link on how to join, and approximately half of your payment will go to supporting the foodbank at Burnley Community Kitchen with £5 per entry going into the prize fund.

Nice one! What do you put the increased interest down to, CT? A desperate thirst for all-things sport in these strange times? Or perhaps due to the change in where the funds are going? Either way, it's great news.

It’s just ahead of previous years but not a lot in it. Was just giving it a plug.

Fair enough. Here's hoping it will be far ahead come the start of the season. I expect you get a rush of late entries each year.

Last 24 hours is sometimes chaos and a nightmare if I’m on my way to an away game. This season we have no game.

Does anybody fancy splitting the management with me? You'd just need to do basically everything and I'll just fire across suggestions.

Some interesting position changes this year. Aubameyang is now a midfielder.

Could be interesting if Messi joins city. Would he be in every team?

To be honest, I go in, auto select my team and get the league set up, that's the first job and I've not been back since other than to check who has joined the league so I can keep the sticky up to date.

I'm amazed they have Aubameyang as a midfielder though.

I think the best one I ever got on that was when Matty Taylor was listed as a defender and Harry Redknapp started playing him further up the pitch for Portsmouth and he started banging in the goals.

Some strange settings they have on there, Rashford as a midfielder and Pickford as a goalkeeper

Much needed and I think this was the best charity to go with for 2020/21. Already past £300 raised for the foodbank and hopefully another rush over the next week will see it climb a bit more yet.

I think I finished 3rd in one UTC season and then tried again the other season (not in the UTC league) and finished 54th out of how many million. Luck definitely plays its part though.
