1st September 2007

Post by FactualFrank » Tue Sep 01, 2020 12:20 pm

Steve Cotteril signed Graham Alexander during the week and played him in central midfield vs Preston.

We won 2-1, with goals from Alan Mahon and Andy Gray.

Made his debut at Colchester and we won 3-2. But if this is yet another p*** taking thread it will be removed. I’ve just about had enough now.

100% not a p*** taking thread Tony. Neither was the one I started yesterday.

Basically, I bought a Burnley book off Amazon from Phil Bird, and so reading through it.

I wanted to start an 'On this day' thread and carry it on.

Was an amazing signing for us - he just seemed to get better and better in the Burnley shirt.

Not a bad penalty record either, although don't have the stats. Did he miss 1 or score them all?

I couldn't believe we spent £200k on a player in his mid-30's

Great player for us! Never forget that Pen V Reading.

Not sure why anyone would think this thread would be a p1sstake?

Yes, he missed one, it was in a game we lost and never looked like winning despite our good from - I think it was against Barnsley or someone

EDIT - It was Bristol City - https://www.tribalfootball.com/articles ... ty-1140711

EDIT 2 - We drew 0-0 - though we never looked like winning

I started a thread yesterday, "On this day", which was like this, but was going to continue it and add something each day.

For whatever reason, a user came on and was basically trash talking and ruined it, so the thread was pulled. But like I say, I bought a book of Amazon which is from Philip Bird - just fancied doing something different and having a thread that could build up.

Got the same book. Excellent read.

Thread pulled this morning about an old game against Doncaster. Wasn’t even on this day.

Think Tony needs to take some time out.

Problem is, FF, yesterday it was Peter Kippax and not Harry Potts.

Today it's Colchester not Preston, and we won 3-2 with goals from Andy Gray (2) and Alan Mahon.

In terms of the Doncaster game, cfc, think it was 29 years ago and not 28.

Not sure I get the joke here to be honest? Is the primary aim just to try and annoy CT?

As I said, I got a book off Amazon and thought it would be a nice addition to the board. Although it seems to be incorrect - which doesn't really help.

No. It’s you who is taking time out. This is the fourth day in the last week when you have come on this board with one intention, to undermine me and that led to last night’s thread being removed.

So you will now be taking some time out because I have now had enough. I can’t cope with it and won’t any longer.

I don’t want any responses to this so am locking this thread, otherwise it will be a case of shutting down the board every time I’m not around to monitor it.
