We know Mee is out, nothing said on Long, Tarky played Saturday and no one is sure where Gibson is so yes, 5th & 6th choice in an otherwise strong team.

Preston haven’t made any signings as yet. Their team is similar to the one that played in the League Cup v Mansfield.

Kevin Long is the mystery. Nothing has been said at all about his absence.

I’m not in the know, but if Kevin long wasn’t injured, surely he’d have been in the Ireland squad

It’s a new manager with Ireland so you never know but he wasn’t selected, wasn’t involved for us on Saturday and isn’t today which all suggests a potential injury.

We really are down to the bare bones for central defenders then! We might start season with Charlie Taylor at CH

I suspect Ben is going to be struggling but no suggestion Tarky won’t be fit.

Or rushies? We can play an extra striker, with Pope putting a shift in.

Nice to see Mr Dyche giving the 2 young lads a ho to possibly stake a claim for 4th choice CB.
Would have been easy to shove Taylor and Peiters inside.

That's exactly what these games are for.

Highlights how threadbare we are though, only a couple of injuries away from having to fill the bench with untested kids.

You don’t usually have this many injuries in pre-season but with the short break we’ve still those players recovering from 2019/20 injuries.

Bench is 2 Goalkeepers, 2 Full Backs, 4 Strikers and 2 Midfielders...

Any other Premier League clubs rocking squads like this at the moment?

Some will be worse than us I imagine with international calls. We’ve only lost Brady & the two keepers.

Ah yes, but without them we could have played Norris & BPF in the centre of defence. :D

Positives JBG starts again & Richardson makes the bench, no Brady so I presume he's away with ROI.

We don't have a PL game for another 18 days, so it's too early to panic, but we could do with one or two returning.

Good that the youngsters will get some decent game time against a decent Championship outfit, this can only stand them in good stead for their upcoming fixtures, when we'll be stepping up in class.

Preston have just tweeted: “Unfortunately we are unable to stream today’s game live at the request of the opposition who have also requested that there is limited media coverage of today’s game.”

They may well be, but given that they've streamed earlier games, it would be most odd if they chose not to against us, unless there was a good reason... such as us objecting.

We know we said no. Even when the game was announced at weekend it was said that it was on Comms Cam.

Still 0-0 I believe, I'm definitely not going to sit there and watch someone commentating.

Goalless at the break, but maybe it shouldn't be, from PNE Twitter feed.

41' North End looked to have taken the lead as Sinclair's strike hits the bar and bounces over the line but it's not given!

Sounds like we got away with one there.

Ha ha - just about getting some minutes but usually a nice short trip for us to go and watch a friendly. Well, I thought so until two years ago when my plans to go by train were scuppered when they were all cancelled at the last minute.

He was heavily involved in pre-season a year ago. He went to Portugal and played the full game at Crewe, then the second half at Fleetwood and also came on as a sub against Parma in the final friendly.

Sure, but a year can be a long time in football. From what I'm hearing he's one our promising young players - be interesting to see if he can replicate something close to McNeil.

Only a single appearance though. I've spoken to people who watched McNeil and never expected him to make the grade and was close to signing for a lower league club.

I once watched McNeil at under 18 level with a scout from probably the best academy in the country. He told me McNeil lacked pace to make it
