Is that house? It's a decent tune but I wanted it to break out a bit harder and really go for it.what_no_pies wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 5:17 pmThe Avalanches featuring Neneh Cherry and Jamie XX

A little less euro house than your suggestion and for me, far nicer vocals from Nadia Ali.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 5:08 pmLet your hair down and post your random songs.

When you mentioned the name it rang a bell. She does have a really nice voice.
Here is another that I think has a stunning voice from Javah. I assume that's her stage name, but it's beautiful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkqdKG3GPOo

Re: The Music Thread
yes I enjoyed that thanks, never heard of her to be honest but I think I missed most of the 90's music wise living in the ME, very limited radio, one channel and same DJ who had been there from the 70's apparently. I did get to enjoy the back end of the 90's when we left, it was a strange feeling really but very enjoyable.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 6:30 pmKateR, what do you think to this kind of music?

What I posted was my early listening, then migrated to Led Zep etc. then to things like Creed, Linkin Park, now listening enjoying Seether but mixed on my IPod mostly with very eclectic mix

Linkin Park I was never a fan of. Much more a trance kind of guy, and I still prefer my dance - you can't put an age on it, as it's a generation thing imo.
But, I also love the 80s... what was this, 84?

Re: The Music Thread
my favorite song at the moment and for quite a while, loud but love the beat and the car get's it loud when I am driving alone lol.
Love the lyrics:
Before you hedge those bets you've placed against me
Be reticent of fortunes, they foretell
Your verbal defecation I can't wash away despite myself
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJgpvTTmihc
Music tastes are for different occasions and have a variety of likes, obviously not a dance song for me or for a relaxing evening snuggling on a stormy evening/night

Was also not a big fan of the 80's but when I listen to somethings from that decade these days I enjoy it a lot, you picked one of my favorite songs with thatFactualFrank wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 6:43 pmI had a crush on Tina Cousins, she was stunning.

However, I posted about Seether who did a cover of this and I love that, many people say it's better than the original but for me I love both versions

The list I posted of Soul from the 60's or Sade would be the kind I would listen to in the bath, the man with the Golden Voice, the late great Sam Cooke for example but I like the offbeat dance songs from the that era, but not in the bath , such as the Going to a Happening or:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ25SXcNRuQ
and one of my all time favorite soul songs to dance to

for me it's just ok but not something I would consider buying or adding to my IPod. It's not quite elevator music but something I would expect as background music somewhere
obviously music like art, movies, etc. is very subjective
